I had them come out because my a/c unit was making noise. We are retired and on a fixed income. I had already paid them $165.13 to do service on my unit twice a year. No service was done. They said my fan motor was going bad. Quoted me $700 plus tax and labor to fix the problem. I am smart enough to know that the motor didn't cost that much. I bought the motor for $230, and then found a honest a/c company to come out and put it in. They came out, put it in, changed a capacitor, and serviced my unit for $155. My husband and I have both contacted ******* numerous times. Cancelled the service contract. They then said that the service call at my house would be $118. They have not contacted me since, and have not refunded the remaining amount of money. They tried to rip ** off, and now seem unwilling to refund the remaining amount. I would like my money, and for it to be known that they try to rip people off. Thank you.Business response

Good morning,
What happened in this situation was the customer called to set up a service agreement where we come to service their unit two times per year which is $160.13 including tax, this was on 5/1/2023. The customer scheduled their first service for 5/11/2023. The customer called back on 5/3/2023 saying their AC was not working, we informed them we could sent someone out that day to do a service call but they would have to pay their reduced service rate which comes with their service agreement that is $85.00 plus tax since it was not their Visit #1 on their service agreement as we did not have time to do a full service today, the customer said ok no problem. We sent a service technician out and he diagnosed a bad blower motor and quoted the customer $700 plus tax and labor and told them it would be here the next day. The customer called ** back on 5/4/2023 stating that they did not want the blower motor they ordered it them selves for cheaper and we were trying to rip them off and that they want a refund on their service agreement. We have competitive pricing with companies around **. I explained to them that is our price and we are sorry but I will notify the technician that they do not want the part anymore. Since they have cancelled the service agreement they do not get the reduced rate for the service call on 5/3/2023, they have to pay our regular service call price which is $118.45 plus tax. At this point we have refunded the remaining balance out of the service agreement which was $33.68.
Service Agreement $160.13
Service Call $126.45
Total Refunded $33.68
Kindest Regards,
