The Burlington Insurance Company (TBIC) reviewed damage claims to my house caused by a local moving company on June 7, 2022. The insurance company's general adjuster inspected the damage later that month. TBIC did not send their claim to me in the mail on September 1, 2022 as they said that they did. I did not receive the claim until December 8, 2022, and this was through my persistent effort calling them over the course of six months. The insurance claim that TBIC sent contained multiple factual errors, including putting my wrong home address. More importantly, the claim incorrectly says that I (rather than the moving company) installed and removed the protective floor covering that pulled off my floor's finish. TBIC's decision to not reimburse me for the damages to my house are based on this factual error.Business response

On Dec 9th ( Friday @ 8:17pm) the assigned adjuster to the claim at hand received a communication from the complainant to which we provided him with a response on Wednesday Dec 14th ( copy of that communication is attached ).
Please note that while there were errors in the communication sent to the complainant on 9-1-2022, the error had no impact on the coverage position for the submitted claim. The errors were because of a partial "copy and paste" carryover from the letter that we addressed to our policyholder, which should have been then edited to fit our conversation with the complainant. However, such error does not change or impact the fact that the policy we issued excludes coverage for the claimed damaged, for various reasons.
As stated, our policyholder was advised of the NO COVERAGE position and therefore the complainant will need to work directly with the policyholder for any consideration of the claim for damages.
