Last week of July 2023 I met with Mr. ********************** concerning the cleaning of 2 copper facades I have in my store. He promised a showroom shine and quoted it as a "3-5 day job". Mr. ********************** knew going in that he would need to conduct his services outside of operational hours. He said he wasn't a morning person, so he elected to come at night. After a couple of trips (several last-min cancelations/rescheduling) and only 45-ish mins of work each time, he said he just could not "waste his time" coming out for such short periods of time. I created a temp alarm code so he could be locked in and have unlimited access overnight for 1 week. During those 7 nights, Mr. ********************** came in once and worked for less than 2 hours. At the end of that one shift, he left the entire facade noticeably covered in a degreaser and I had to clean it myself the next morning knowing that we were having some VIP visitors to my location that weekend. I counted no less than 15 times over the course of 5 weeks that he had to reschedule, cancel, or just did not show up. Now I am having to hire a different company and initial estimates are recommending we replace the copper due to Mr. **********************'s techniques. In addition to the deposit i have already lost, I also must pay to repair glass sneezeguard he cracked as well as the copper trim at the very least. Thoroughly unimpressed with his professionalism and even told me that he "didn't even need this job"Initial Complaint

As executor for an estate I am probating, in advance of an estate sale, two months ago I hired ***** Dolby to clean/polish some items of silver to be sold. He was very congenial and accommodating when we met, and because the reviews on his website were so glowing, I felt comfortable with giving him the silver items and a check for $300. I called him 3 weeks later to let him know of the dates for the sale and he assured me he would have the job completed and returned to me before the sale. A week before the sale, having heard nothing from him, I called again and was told that the work had been completed except for putting a coat of lacquer on the pieces. I reminded him that I had specifically stated to NOT put lacquer on the pieces and said I would pick up the items. He said he would deliver the next day. He did not show up, and when I called again, he assured me he would deliver the following day. He did not show up again. I called several times again with excuse after excuse and refusal to allow me to pick up the pieces. The estate sale came and went with no delivery and no further word from him. I have since done some research and found a number of reviews citing a pattern consistent with what I have experienced. I urge anyone to read the complaints posted on the Better Business Bureau's website for *****'s business. 2 vintage silver lamps (a gift to my parents on their **** wedding and were gifted to me by my mother roughly 25 years ago) were sent via **** insured for $500 to Dolby. They were to be cleaned, re-silvered, lacquered, and 2 small repairs made. He quoted a price of $475 for the services and told me to send them right away with a $175 deposit as he wasn't busy. They were shipped *** with $500 insurance on 1/24/22 but the box was not opened until roughly 10 weeks after that date. The lamps sustained further damage in shipping but due to the lapse of time in opening, the insurance was no longer valid (60 days). 2 legs were broken half off, 1 leg was fully broken off, and 1 foot was broken off of a leg. We were now at 3 months with no work done, I would call, he would give me an excuse, time after time. My husband took over the communication and a few weeks later he agreed to meet him in High Point where he was doing a job. He was to bring cash only and demanded an additional $75 for the items he had to purchase to finish the job. When my husband saw the condition of the lamps he was shocked and said he would pay nothing. The broken off foot was not flush with the leg, it was also tipped up so that the lamp did not sit solidly on a flat surface. The other 3 legs that were repaired had visible marks where they were stuck back on. He did not re-silver them, and he didn't remove all of the tarnish. When he was questioned about the lack of re-silvering, he laughed and said he never said that he would do that, and if he had it would have been another $500 to do it and that it wasn't even legal to do that in **.
