I reached out to Noise Free America thinking I had an ally in my and my neighbours' fight against the modified vehicles taking over our streets, since police have demonstrated their lack of concern. I proceeded to write the Director for assistance since there is no local advertising and I was at a lost whom to contact. My previous two emails were met with empathy and advice. I was also given the name of a local contact, which proved to be someone who did not respond to my email. I then went to NFA's website and contacted the supposed current president of the *** ***** chapter; that also was in vain, as she neither responded. On my most recent attempt to contact NFA Director for further assistance and to inform him of the likelihood the *** ***** chapter is defunct, I was taken aback by an extremely rude email claiming since I had not donated, our "relationship" was a "one-way street" and "I help you but you do nothing for me". Firstly, the organisation never produced valid help and secondly, I refuse to be held hostage for money in a "pay to play" scheme! This is not how a professional business is to be run. How very insulting.

    Noise Free America Response

    07/25/2022

This review is highly misleading and inaccurate. The reviewer fails to include her own behavior in her report. She first claimed that she received "no assistance" from Noise Free America. Now she acknowledges that she was indeed provided the contact information for the leader of an anti-noise group in *** *****. It is true that I asked for a donation. This is hardly out of line. Non-profit organizations ask for donations all the time. When I asked for a donation, she responded, "HOW DARE YOU?" Huh? She also claims that "legitimate businesses" do not operate this way. Apparently, she has little understanding of how businesses work. Businesses require money for their goods and services. No business simply gives its products or services away. Further, non-profits are not "businesses." In response to my request, the reviewed wrote back, ***** ****!!" (without the dashes). I hardly think that a reviewer should be allowed to post a negative comment on BBB when her behavior toward the organization is outrageously offensive and rude. I did not use profanities with her and I was perfectly pleasant toward her. I never imagined that a simple request for a donation to a non-profit that operates on a shoestring budget would be met with such vitriol. Her reaction is WAY out of line with the supposed "offense." In addition, I did provide her a list of 56 e-mail addresses of anti-noise people in *** *****. I also apologized for asking for a donation (even though I do not believe I did anything wrong in doing so). I have worked for this organization for 21 years. Over that time, I have been paid about a dollar an hour. Given this, I hardly find it unreasonable to ask someone who is asking for help for a donation.   ** ** *** * **** ******* ** ********* *** ****** Noise Free America
