I had the cosmetic placement of my implanted tooth placed on June 26,2023 by **********************. ************************ previous partner, ********************* was supposed to do the procedure but got married and relocated. The office did not make me aware until I was sitting in the dental chair ready to go for my procedure. I was not happy considering I have never met **********************, no one called me prior or anything to make me aware to see what I wanted to do. I was left In a situation where I basically had no choice because I was toothless in the front of my mouth. After the placement when I got home I started noticing that my implant was tapping on my other teeth and causing me to bite on my tongue. I realized that the tooth was too big for my mouth and also had a blue/ grayish tent to it. I called the office the next day about it and basically was brushed off as if nothing is wrong. I came in for a visit today, June 29 and was told by ********************** that I would have to pay out of pocket again if I wanted the implant redone ! I expressed that I dont have **** to just be giving away and paying again. I felt as though she didnt even care or took no accountability that the tooth was the wrong size. I then went to ********* where they made the tooth and the lab tech stated that my tooth was too big for my mouth and that the color was off and had a grey color to it and that the tooth was placed too forward when it should have been placed further back. I would like to be refunded my money that I paid and have my front tooth implant prepped, made and placed correctly elsewhere. It isnt my fault as a patient that I molding wasnt dont correctly and that my tooth was made incorrectly. This has caused a lot of issues for my mouth. Its hard to talk, eat or in general keep my mouth closed.

We deeply regret that you are dissatisfied with your experience at Dentistry of the Carolinas. We are at a bit of a disadvantage as current HIPAA laws and our respect for your privacy prevents us from discussing or acknowledging specifics regarding any patients personal records in a public forum such as the BBB's website. We do want you to know that we stand behind the quality of our work and have worked hard to maintain our A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. We never want an unhappy patient and are disappointed to hear of your dissatisfaction. In this most unusual circumstance, we will honor the request and will fully refund the patient the amount paid to us.

I am rejecting this response because:

I filed a complaint a few weeks ago and was promised to have my full refund in the amount of $2342.00 mailed to my home address. I was told that my refund was mailed out over a week ago and I still have not received my refund from the dentistry of the ********* I would like to know the status of my refund. Thank you, *******************************

      Refund

We wrote a refund check on 07/06/2023, took it to the post office and sent it Certified Mail, which requires her signature. The ball is in her court; we have done everything we are required to do. She needs to reach out to the post office per the instructions on the note left on her door. I have screenshot of the page on the **** website proving all of the above as well. I have attached proof of the refund check, and the Certified Mail tracking number. The postal worker would have left a note on her door with all of this information. Per their website, they left a note on 7/7/2023 at 11:21 am.

There's not much else we can do at this point.

I was seen on March 10th, 2022 for cavities to be filled. I have insurance through my wife's plan but was asked to pay all upfront and was told I would be reimbursed. After they settled the claim with insurance, they told me they would send a check out for my overpayment. I checked in 3 weeks later and was told it hadn't been processed yet, and it was someone else's department. I gave them time and called again. This time they said they would be sending a check. 2 weeks later I call and get told they don't send out checks. I've gotten conflicting information every single time I call, and overpaid by nearly 300 dollars. I have no idea how to get this money back and no one can give me a straight answer. I just want the money that I overpaid. I have called multiple times and so has my wife and neither of us have been offered an answer/solution.

It takes approximately 30 days for most insurance companies to reimburse payment. We submitted our refund request to our accounts and billing department on April 14th as soon as we received the reimbursement from ************************ wife's insurance. Refund checks are written once per month and ************************ is being written this week. Once the check has been written, it is then submitted to the owners of the company for them to sign. At that point, it will be placed in the mail. We sincerely apologize for any confusion and inconvenience this has caused ********************. Our insurance and billing coordinator contacted ******************** and explained this information this morning, 5/9/2022. We greatly appreciate ******************** being a patient and hope that he finds this resolution satisfactory.
