Here we are, yet again, for the 5th time this year. 5th time i have to move my animals to somewhere else. 5th time Ive had to empty out my fridge. 5th time i have to, essentially, reset my house. The reason? They simply do not care. Power is out. No information as to why. Different locations say different things on the outage maps as to the cause of the outage. I live in ******, ** and, unfortunately, are forced to use Duke energy. What is really an issue is that these outages are concentrated in the same exact area every time! That just so happens to be my area sadly. Ive called dominion about power lines that are hanging too low, clear debris on the power lines, and a couple other obvious issues (wires wrapped up in a tight ball on a power lines), insulator cables open and exposed, etc). I don't expect them to say theyd fix it but after this many outages its ridiculous. Honestly, if you are like me and have 1) animals 2) sensitive electronics and/or have alot of food in the fridge, I would stay away from ********** in ******, **. This is just in 2024 but in 2023 we had more outages that lasted longer. That was my first year in ** and just because of how long we went without power, I regretted the move. You may think that 3-4 days without power isn't that bad but when it is either >85F or below 40F, you tend to want your power on to protect you AND the things in your house. Duke is not reliable. Bettering infrastructure is clearly not a priority for them in areas that they do not care about. If i could switch, I would.

Duke energy has substantial increase our electrical bill without any parallel Consumption, we are a Family of 5, we only have one TV in the entire apartment, My A/C is over 75 and no Washer No Dryer and they have increase our bill tremendously. According to Consumers Affairs they have hundreds of complaints.

I called for a simple, local change of address. The rep had such a thick Indian accent I could not understand her. I felt bad but I had to ask for another rep. So she transferred me to a supervisor who was even harder to understand. I finally was connected to someone I could understand, and then he started hard-selling me on a ring camera and then internet service, both of which I refused but he persisted for quite awhile. **** needs to raise the bar on their English proficiency standards and train their reps not to cross-sell so persistently.

They double charged me and refuse to give me my money back and only a credit to my account, not even a check

My husband and I have had Duke power for the last five years, everything was fine until this summer. In the past 8 weeks we have lost power about 7 times, one instance it was out 24 hours. Im a breastfeeding mother with a young baby and had over 1200 ounces of breastmilk go bad because of outages. Then hearing they are increasing rates with the terrible service we receive from this company, makes me absolutely sick. I wouldnt recommend buying a home that has duke to anyone. The wind blows wrong and our power goes out. I go back to work this week and have little to no milk stash to feed my child now due to have to dump GALLONS of breastmilk down the drain. I cannot stand giving them my families hard earned money when they cant fulfill their services. They do not care about their customers.

I called because my son's shoes were thrown on a powerline by some bullies and I clearly stated, I did NOT want his shoes thrown away. I was informed that I would receive a call before the service was performed but nobody ever called me. When I called to check on the service order, I was told that I would never see his shoes again, very unprofessional! I called for help and instead I was treated like I did something wrong. I believe the workers actually stole the shoes instead of throwing them in the trash. When I asked where they were thrown away at, they stated they didn't know.

Have bad communication with their customers. ****** care about their customers also. How do notify someone about a past due payment after a year and lying about how to go about payments.

Duke Energy is nothing but a ripoff I lose my power at least three or four times a week here and ******** in ******** area... in **** has yet to fix this problem in the two years I've been living in this area but they proceed to charge us almost double sometimes in the summertime like it's not summertime in ******* all year round how the h*** are you charging me such an enormous fees and you can't even maintain the service I'm paying for!!....Nothing but greed ... big corporations ripping off us little guys why they make $200 billion dollars a year they charge us $200 a month for a service they can't even maintain

**** hired ******* 2 years ago to cut/top trees in the right of way behind my home, city property. I was told that it must be clear for emergency vehicles. When I asked for the 6' log and debris to be removed, they piled up the wood after they chopped upnonly half the job with a machine like a **** hog. ******** with Asheville City (April 22, 2024) told me that it was *******/**** who was responsible for the clean up. She gave me ********************* # (****** office in *********) and I have left numerous messages to address this concern. Here it is July ************************************ the right of way. I need to know how to progress from here. ******

I think Dukne Energy and it's owner should be jailed for the treatment of its customers and lack of poli y dealing with customers dealing with hardships. They all should be jail and The Duke energy monopoly should be dismantled
