            On Monday August 8th of 2024 I received an offer for a credit line with this company. After submitting an application and having my credit run, they were unable to verify my income. They use an automated system that was having errors and were unwilling to manually verify my information even though extensive documentation of the income was provided. I would like them to remove their inquiry from my credit report since they were never able to verify my income via their automated system, nor were they willing to have an employee verify it manually.

            Figure uses deceptive practices. They sent a letter saying I could check to see what kind of home equity loan I would receive without doing a hard credit check. So I filled it out, out of curiosity, and they returned an answer and a rate that wasn't very good, so I ignored it and didn't pursue it further. A couple of weeks later I got sent an Adverse Action letter with a bunch of legalese that looks like it will now go on my credit report as a negative rating because I did not complete the application and it looks like they did a hard pull on my credit anyway, even though the advertisement said it would not. I would not trust this company at all. I wish I would have looked at these reviews before doing my "exploratory" application which turned out to be a real one.

Our HELOCs are priced competitively but rates quoted are ultimately dependent on a number of factors, many of which aren't available until the prequalification request is submitted. We are legally required to provide written notice of the outcome, even if you choose not to move with the application. Please note, that if you did not select an offer, only a soft credit pull was done, which may still be reflected on your credit report but will not impact your credit.
