      Absolutely horrible experience with this company. Had surgery in September and without my knowledge Atrium, whom by Dr used for his Lab work, subcontracted some testing with Carolinas ********************** Group. Atrium sent the request using my old mailing address. I paid all my medical bills received for this date of service, immediately. I never received an invoice in the mail, email of phone call from Carolinas **********************. Had no idea a bill was even out there until I received a phone call from a credit agency telling me of the situation. I called Carolina ********************** and was told they mail or call but not both to obtain payment, they were extremely rude and unhelpful. Come to find out that they never even sent the bill to my insurance co. So, end up paying the credit agency so it did not go to collections and ruin by credit and had to pay the entire $225. I had to send in the claim for reimbursement to my insurance co. They came back stating the allowable about was only about $45. So, I can only get reimbursed $45 for the $225 I paid. All the lost time and money wasted when it could have all been avoided by a simple phone call!! They just don't care! Their policy on sending everything to collection without doing their part in contacted the patient is shameful and just wrong! Atrium had no problem obtaining my correct address and sending me their bill, which I paid immediately. Why could Carolinas ********************** Group not do the same.

      ************** **************** is subpar and insanely difficult to contact. Statement provided in the mail doesn't show if insurance was filed and coupled with poor response your bill will be consequently be sent to collections. Overall horrible experience.

      This company is horrible. They waited four months to send me my first billing notice with a threat that they have tried to contact me without success and that my account is being referred to a collection agency.First, I've only received one payment notice and it was four months after my medical procedure. This is poor customer service, which I'm sure they don't care about. It also creates undo, time consuming interactions with their front line customer service agents. This is unproductive and I think it should be something they care about since I'm sure this increases their overhead cost. This incident also makes me question the quality of their pathology services.Second, my medical provider has to wait for them to get around to billing, receiving payment then paying the provider. I think they should be concerned about this since I am contacting my provider and recommending they find a new pathology lab since this poor customer service only makes me think their pathology services are just as bad and unreliable.

      Today, 9/16/21, I received an invoice from Carolinas Pathology Group for the amount of $78.20. The invoice is dated 9/10/21. The total amount for the pathology services was $2121.54 and apparently Medicare has already paid them $2,043.34. Now, I've always paid my invoices from Carolinas Pathology in a timely fashion. However, this invoice threatened me (IN BOLD PRINT) that my account is being referred to an external collection agency within 10 days of the date of the invoice. Now, it's already taken the USPS 6 days to get my mail to me. Furthermore, I am told that this is the FINAL NOTICE that I will receive from Carolinas Pathology Group. I don't take kindly to being threatened by any medical services provider, especially one that I never failed to pay on time for any services I received. This is outrageous and if this is how they treat their long-time customers, then I don't want anything more to do with them and I will instruct all of my doctors/medical professionals at Atrium Health to use some other more ethical company.
