Went to park in a paid parking lot in ********* at *********************** The kiosk was ahut off, and I attempted to pay via the ** code. It took me to ************************************ which asked for 3hrs of minimum parking pay. However, I received a ticket from Preferred parking for non-payment. Multiple signs are up on the lot, but the ** code apparently takes you to an incorrect website and you're supposed to use the Preferred parking app? There is also a sign with an option to text. The address for the lot is also not listed on the preferred parking website. This feels like a scam to exort parking ticket fees due to confusing or outdated signage. I tried to appeal my ticket with Preferred parking and offered to pay my original parking amount for 3hrs of parking (9/14/24 @ 945pm to 11:50pm) despite already paying ******************************** but was immediately denied.

      Business response

      09/16/2024

********** is a 3rd party vendor that we work with as an alternative form of payment. This sign with the ** code is displayed at the location throughout the parking lot and beside the paystation. It is not used to trick people into not paying for parking, and receive a violation. The violation stands and will need to be paid.

I paid $15.50 for 24 hrs. via cell & parked in ParkMobile lot across RR ******************************** As I crossed tracks I looked back at my rental car & saw a person place paper, like an advertisement. My family left ImaginOn & thinking it was junk mail threw it in car & when I arrived at *********** collected our stuff & went to our room. The envelope said PARKING VIOLATION Preferred Parking Service PO Box *****. The paper had FINE $85, go to www.preferredparking.com & pay. There were no city, municipal or law citation numbers just FXS0537424 saying vehicle parked in 2 spaces, address & rental car license; payable upon ****************** may apply if paid in 15 days; this is a notification of a debt owed.. Appeal results final & customer agrees with violation. Use www.******************************************.com, pay by check/money order to Preferred Parking Service LLC Parking Enforcement PO Box or email appeal to ********************************************************** unpaid will be towed/ immobile, at owner's expense. Were scared 75 & 74 yrs; we contacted ParkingMobile to share the parking lot was mostly empty, didn't notice if over parking line & when we returned only a car, driver's left, was still there. The *** said they were not involved, only assisted account start up. Not sounding right, next day we asked a police ************** said violation wasn't from law enforcement, no links to law, codes & don't click on links, QR, or send personal info. We think ParkMobile, Preferred Parking hired a person or on their own, try to scare visitors to pay $85 to stop collection; having out-of-state rental license is the trigger & the hired person should have approached us when I looked back. Thank you for helping, filing complaint & warning older couple visitors. Parking lot signs should say careful of scams. PLEASE DON'T SHARE MY NAME, EMAIL, CELL OR DIRECTORY INFORMATION WITH THESE PEOPLE [ Not screaming just trying to avoid being hacked, threatened, or intimidated by them or their hired people, actors.

Preferred Parking is a private company with private property for public fee based parking. We do random checks 24/7, 365. We do not hire for a scare tactic. It is the job of the employees to make sure people are paying for parking, and parking properly in the locations. We do not have just 1 employee handling this. We have multiple employees that do random checks on random locations. They same employee might not be at the lot the same day to avoid situations like Preferred Parking is being accused of in this dispute. Attached is a photo of the vehicle parked in 2 spaces impeding on the vehicle in the next parking space. The violation will need to be paid.

Received letter stating I owed $65 for complimentary parking for business at Salud Beer Store in noda. Store manager indicated parking is allowed for vendor. Please tell preferred parking they cannot extort payments from people by threatening to tow cars, when business indicates parking is allowed for paying customers and gate is up.

      Business response

      09/03/2024

There originally is a violation that was issued. The violation has the option to appeal or be paid for. This was ignored, and went into collections. The bar doesn't have the authority to state that parking is fee for their patrons on private property. This is private property for public fee based parking. Anyone that provides parking for their patrons provide validations. This will need to be paid.

      Customer response

      09/07/2024

I am rejecting this response because: I was never notified of any parking dispute, and for a garage to leave the gates open and say "free parking", then attempt to extort money from me is unacceptable. It is not private property if it is a public parking area. If they had asked me to pay $5 for parking that would be fine, but to extort $65 without giving me the chance to pay $5 is not acceptable.

      Business response

      09/09/2024

This violations was issued correctly. Any business in the area that has patrons that get free parking would have a validation to give to their patron. This is private property for public fee based parking. The violation was never paid or appealed, which is why it received a collection notice. This violation would need to be paid for the license plate to be cleared.

I am honestly just going to leave the complaint I left for them:I am hoping this gets to the right department since i can't appeal my ticket and tow, i've already paid everything to get my car back. My violation number is ICF0528153, i received a ticket and got towed out of the Trade St. Lot. First off I never received a ticket one year ago. I never received a notice in the mail, if I would have i would have paid the fee. I had no idea i received a ticket in 2023. I Parked in your lot again this year on 7/11, I paid by credit card and thought it would renew when expired, obviously not, I was parked in a handicapped space due to my wife being handicapped. I can understand a ticket and i would have paid if i knew that i was in the wrong. But I received a ticket and a boot charge and a tow, just for my time expiring in the lot. I am more than capable of paying my bills and definitely would have. So me and my handicapped wife had to get an uber and goto the towing company with our luggage and get our car, we live out of town. I called your office in ********* after finding i was towed and i talked to two very unprofessional individuals, all they wanted me to do is goto the towing company and all this was to be dealt with through them which was a total lie, they were just putting it off on the towing company. Bottom line is you guys towed my car from a handicapped space and definitely inconvienced my wife, she cannot get around well. I would have never parked in your lot if i knew this is the way you treat your patrons. The lot was practically empty. I think a ticket should have been enough. But we had to spend 2 1/2 hours on a friday afternoon chasing down our car. Your company should be ashamed of how you've treated us, knowing by what space we were in that someone was handicapped. Parking Ticket number: ********. Parking violation number: ICF0528153 I paid ****** to Preferred Parking on 7/12/2024.I paid ****** to SL Recovery on 7/12/2024

Please provide proof of your valid handicap placard for your vehicle.

      Customer response

      08/09/2024

I am rejecting this response because:  I've already attached the handicapped placard in the original complaint.  I am attaching it again.

      Business response

      08/12/2024

Payment is still required for parking in a private property parking lot at the time of parking. The handicap placard doesn't replace a form of payment on private property. The violations can be seen online by looking up the license plate. The tow of the vehicle was valid, and a refund will not be issued.

Company was paid for parking on 5/11/2024. Company has told us twice over the phone that they did receive our payment, we have also sent them the receipt of our on-time payment. One representative told us that they did not send the first letter and that we did pay and we could throw the notice away. Luckily I took a photo of it since I have received two more letters from the business. When the second letter came, we called them and another representative told us ""Oh yeah the payment didn't go through immediately so it sent the letter out. What I will do is lower it to 10 dollars for it not going through." So essentially they are sending me $10 bills in the mail now to pay the cost of their mistake for the money not going through immediately. They said if you don't pay then just don't use our service again or we will tow you. Okay, I will never use your parking desk again so I was just going to leave this alone until I received a letter in the mail today telling me if I do not send them $10 within 15 days that they are going to have "this debt assigned to a licensed collection agency and/or attorney". To be threatened with legal action from a company that I already paid for their services and over a $10 fee they want me to pay without giving me any reasoning why they would need to charge me? Absolutely not. I have seen a lot of other reviews where they have tried to take advantage of other customers who have already paid, as well. I have enough documentation and complaints from fellow customers that my lawyer has already said we can pursue for harassment, if necessary. I am submitting this complaint today to have this debt resolved and to stop receiving communications from this company. If my issues are not resolved, I do plan to take legal action in the future.

      Business response

      07/17/2024

The letter provided is a 3rd party collections letter that is sent after a violation is neither paid or appealed. They will need to appeal the violation for a dispute with ********************************************************** or they can pay the violation to the collection company.

      Customer response

      07/17/2024

I am rejecting this response because:
My husband placed a dispute on 5/21/2024 at 1:20:51 PM and that was when he was called by your company and told that we owed a $10 convenience fee. We should never have been sent to "collections" when we did not owe your company in the first place and you have been told this over and over. I have proof as well. I demand that your company contact your "collections" agency and fix this.

      Business response

      07/17/2024

Please provide proof that a dispute was submitted and not responded to in march 2024. We do not have convenience fees of $10.00. We never have. Appeals should be submitted to *********************************************************.

      Customer response

      07/17/2024

I am rejecting this response because:
This is the copy of the appeal that was sent to you that you called and responded to. That was our SECOND communication with your company. The first communication  we had told us that we had received a spam letter and to just "throw it out". I do not understand what the problem is here? I have shown you people NUMEROUS times that I PAID THE *** TO PARK ON TIME AND AT THE LOCATION. I have sent you SCREEN SHOTS and documented dates and times of these instances. Enough to show that you were paid the proper amount for your service and that should be the end of it. I am also sending this information to your email you provided because I expect this to be taken care of.

As you can see from the letters I posted, you know the letter you claim was sent by a collections agency? Do you mean your own collections department? Because your company is the only information shown on this document.

      Letterhead

      "Preferred Parking, LLC  P.O Box *****, Charlotte ********************** style="font-size: 0.875rem;">"******************************************************************"

      "*********************************************************"

Are these or are these not your companies address, website URL, and email address that was included in the third letter? Therefore the "collections" you are referring to is yourself and I am not going to be harassed into paying a company $10 when I have been told and have shown that I do not owe them money. This is shady business practices and thievery.

      Business response

      07/23/2024

The letter provided is a 3rd party collections letter that is sent after a violation is neither paid or appealed. They will need to appeal the violation for a dispute with *********************************************************, or they can pay the violation to the collection company.  If they choose not to, they will have to pay the 3rd party collection agency.

Regarding notice **********, license number ***********. on 5/**/2024 The parking has been fully paid during parking, And it was paid 2 hour though only parked about 1 hour. Original notice $55, after dispute online, it reduced to $15 when view it online. but continue to get collection threating mail for $55. Sending email for dispute, no response after 4 weeks. Call got hung up. Should not be charged at first place because it was fully paid.

      Business response

      07/01/2024

The violation number provided is not a Preferred Parking violation. All Preferred Parking violations started with letters, and then numbers so the violation issued means they didn't park in the location that they purchased in advance. They will need to reach out to the company they received the violation from. That should  be on the violation.

I am rejecting this response because: The response said the parking ticket is not from preferred parking , I attached the notice to confirm it is from preferred parking. Reattached the payment evidence.

In order to determine if a refund is warranted, and approved they need to give the company an opportunity to look into this instead of going straight to the BBB to file a claim. Please submit a refund request to ******************************************************* They will need all the information below.

      the transaction.

I am writing to address the issues I encountered during my stay at your hotel on May 29th. I booked a reservation that included parking for my vehicle, and while I indicated this when making the reservation, there seemed to be a miscommunication during check-in.Unfortunately, upon check-out, I was charged $60 to exit the parking garage, which came as a surprise to me and was not acceptable given the circumstances. I have reached out to your team multiple times to request a refund for this charge, but have been informed that my request will not be granted.and I had to go through the parking company. I believe there was a misunderstanding that led to this situation, and I would like to kindly request a refund for the parking charge. As a loyal customer, I value the *********************** provided by your hotel and hope that we can resolve this matter amicably.I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to a prompt response. Thank you for your understanding and assistance in resolving this issue.Date 5/29-5/30 check out of hotel at 9am. Charged $60 for parking when parking was already included in my hotel stay. Have requested a refund or speak with supervisor and no one has reached out.

      Business response

      06/18/2024

We request proof of payment to the hotel for the parking. Parking was not paid for on the receipt, and therefore a refund for the parking will not be issued.

This monthly parking account was set up by my then employer. I was unaware that I needed to personally cancel the account. After I reached out and explained that I didnt set the account up, I was provided directions to cancel. I explained that I had not been onsite since 03/29 and that I was being charged. I was charged for two months of ****** where I did not use the service. The young lady provided me with directions and told me to request a refund. After requesting a refund, I was denied a refund even though I didnt set up the account. Someone from their company did. I then called to speak with some over the refunds department and spoke with a rude individual that refused to provide me with any other information or another person to speak with. I would advise not to utilize this parking service. Its literally a scam.

The account has been cancelled for the end of May by the ******. Whether the employer or the ****** sets up the account the rules and regulations are required to be followed. The ****** was transferred from one location to another, and the same rules and regulations apply. The customer ********************** team can only provide the refund request contact information, they have no involvement whether a refund is approved or not. This space is cancelled for the end of May. A refund will not be issued.

On April 2nd I parked my car in one of Preferred parking lots in south end. It was not even a properly constructed lot with no parking stripes. There was no concrete and just stones. I paid $12 (flat fee) for 4 hours for parking and I came back in less than 3 hours and there was a ticket for $85 on my car. I submitted the appeal (appeal number, License plate and a screenshot of the credit card statement Attached here) on the same day which was April 2nd for this wrong fully issued ticket and I received the "appeal received" email and that said "we" will get back to you in 2-3 weeks. It has been almost 8 weeks since I have heard nothing but one communication email asking me what number plate was used for to pay for the parking from them about this wrongfully issued ticket on my car in spite of paying for the parking. I have been emailing the same email that I got some response from on April 19th every 3 days to ask for an update and I have heard nothing. Reinstating the issue, I have been issued a parking ticket wrongfully when I paid for Parking and got out of the lot way before my time had expired. Upon calling customer ********************** they ask me how I spelled "preferred" in the email just to find reasons of how the appeal was not made when the appeal is actually submitted and acknowledged by them and that I have had communication with the appeal department.
