We have a lease agreement to rent the home we occupy for $2600 per month, at ******************************* in ******, **, which they want ** to ************** rent is $4000. We have been living under the 'month-to-month' section of the lease which states that we have to give a minimum 60 days notice to leave but it also states that they must give us minimum 60 days notice to raise the rent which they have not. ***** left a voicemail on my fiancee's phone on 1/18/2023 which said that he wanted to discuss a renewal. This discussion has not yet taken place; however, when we signed onto their app to pay our February rent, not only was the rent amount $4000, but it would not let us pay anything except for that amount. Which means that unless we want to be late with rent, we are forced to agree to these new terms which is unacceptable.Business response

This has been filed against us in error. We don't manage this property. The tenants must have put down the name of their landlord incorrectly in their complaint.Initial Complaint

I was in a housing program and had no choice but to accept this home from ********************* of Charlotte homes and rentals. When I moved in I told him there was mold in the hold the water was gussing up from the floor the bathroom tub was pealing the refrigerator was leaking it was bats in the home the trees were falling the whole house was falling apart he made it seem like I did it. He never fixed anything only took my money and left me and my three baby's to fiend for ourselves. I had mice in the home everything was a horrible. He told me I didn't know how to live in a home and I was always lying because he didn't want to fix things I moved in February of 2021 and call the city in November of 2021 and the city moved us out because the house was unsafe. ************** ran from the city and me he hasn't been back to that home nor will he pay my security deposit. He has been doing this since 2006 and people keep letting him rent to people like us that's not fair we just trying to live not be scammed and have our money tooken like he done.
