In February of 2021, I did my taxes with Liberty Tax located on *********** in ********, **. As I the rep was doing my taxes, I explained to her that I only had 2 W2s (one from ******* and one from **************). I lived in ******* from 01/2020 until 11/2020. I lived in ************** from 11/2020 to 12/2020. While the rep was doing my taxes, she kept having to ask the supervisor questions concerning how to do the taxes. This should have been a red flag for me. After the taxes were completed, (filed electronically) I was due a refund from Federal of over $3500 and ** state of $142. The cost of doing the taxes cost me $450 which I felt was very high. I received the refund from the federal government some weeks later; however, ************** state sent me a letter stating there was a discrepancy with my return. While it is too much to write and I do not have enough characters, after contacting Liberty Tax and doing multiple amends to the tax return. It was finalized by ************** state that I owed over $3000 in taxes to the state. This was impossible as I just moved there for only one month. With no help from Liberty Tax I had to call the auditor and spend two hours on the phone with them to get my state taxes correct. The state auditor got it down to $60. The problem here is that Liberty Tax guarantees a full refund when your taxes are done wrong. I have called the local office and the corporate office with no help. I have left multiple messages with a supervisor named ****** ************** with no call back. She called me in September of 2021 and gave me a reference number (*******); however, I have not heard back from her since and I have left countless messages. Finally today, I called the corporate office at ************** and the receptionist told me that there is nothing she can do. She stated that it has been escalated as far as it can go. When I asked her if I can have the regional manager's info. She stated no, that it is internal info.
