We were very disappointed in the lack of communication and services received from ************** in *******, **************. I called this company to get a repair estimate on our vehicle, the check engine light was on, and we were not sure of the cause. I made an appointment to drop off the vehicle Wednesday 11/1 at 8am. My husband and I dropped the vehicle upon doing so they had him fill out paperwork with his name, contact number and the reasons for bringing the vehicle in. They told us that they would give us a call and let us know what work needed to be done after the diagnostic. My husband informed him that he worked night shift and it would be better to call me - I had also given them the information that I was to be the main point of contact for this repair. I called on Wednesday around 1pm to follow up, they told me that they would reach out to me once the repair estimate was ready and I again gave them my contact information. Flash forward to today (Thursday 11/2) I call them to follow up around 1 pm since we have not heard anything from them. They tell me that the repairs were done and I could pick the car up. I ask them why they did not call us prior to doing work on the vehicle to give us the repair cost and they stated that doing the work is part of the diagnostic process. I spoke with the tech who did the job and they told me that he could easily take off the part and I could just pay for the diagnostic cost and pick the vehicle up. I told them I would call back after speaking with my husband. Upon speaking with my husband we called back and asked if we could just pick the vehicle up and pay for the diagnostic as the part installed was a $100 part and we could do the work for cheaper ourselves. They had quoted us $563 for repairs. Upon this request we were transferred to the office manager who informed us the diagnostic fee was $230 which was never told to us! They stated that there was a sign in the office with this price which was untrue.

** law does not require ** to post labor rates or fees. You nor your husband asked about any fees when dropping off. Most of our valued customers who care about the quality of work and parts on their vehicles don't ask about diagnostic fees in the same way you don't ask your doctor about lab work or xray costs. It is understood that their are costs. We thoroughly explained the various tests performed on your vehicle and the reason for placing the new part on as being final part to confirm the accuracy of the diagnostic process. Once the validity of the diagnostic was confirmed by replacing the part and achieving the desired effect you were notified. You expressed a problem with the cost and we easily rectified your concern and removed the labor charges and the new part. We do not see what problem exists other than with your personal economic and financial situation. Unfortunately we are not a charity and have a business to run. We respect your DIY spirit but with all respect we are professionals and if we did things for DIY prices we could not survive. Not all businesses and consumers are a good fit as is the case here. We wish we could have been able to fix your car for free, however in this reality we can provide Chic Fil-A service at ********* prices and again we are not a charity. We suggest a career change or applying that strong DIY spirit to career advancement in order to be able to realistically afford to properly repair and maintain your vehicles with experienced trained professionals someday. Also in the future, if prices are not posted at other establishments and you happen to be in an economically challenged period in your life(as we have all been there no judgement) all you have to do is ask. In the *********************** when you drop a vehicle off or tow a vehicle to a repair facility it is legally implied that you are expecting to pay up to $350 on diagnostic and repair just FYI. We wish the best of luck to you even though you are struggling now things do get better.
