My wife and I own a lot on Rhodhiss Lake and contacted ****** to get an engineered dock design drawn up for our permit. After two email requests, she replied that she would be able to get an engineer to draw them up for us for $650 (I thought that was a fair price). She then emailed back asking for a $300 deposit so they would start on the design and it would take about 2 weeks. I sent the money that day. Two weeks later ****** sent an email asking to the balance and the engineer would have the designs the next day. I sent the remaining $350 that day. Seven days later I emailed her for an update. No reply. Four days after that, I emailed again. No reply. The next day I emailed asking for some designs or a refund. I finally got a reply saying that she is sure the engineer has he designs. That was 6 days ago. I have since asked only for a refund. Once again, no reply and no refund.

Mickey L*****, owner of LKN Permits, LLC supposed to submit our dock maintenance application to Lake Services. For the past month, she's been lying to us that our application is in process. Since it's been a month, I've decided to send an email to Lake Services myself to check on the status. I was shocked to find out that our application was never submitted. She's been lying to us the whole time and making us wait for no reason. I immediately fired her. We will be taking legal action against her and her company for misleading and causing us to waste so much money and resources. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HER TO ANYONE. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS WE DID.

LKN PERMITS, LLC was hired by an group of Investors to facilitate several dock permits December 2020. This particular property was to be submitted as transfer of ownership into the name of the Investors, and was submitted as such. Mr. ******* then became interested in purchasing the property, but wanted to make changes to the structure, and he requested this be approved prior to closing. Changes such as replacing boards, updating the covered slip, and (as recommended by the original contractor) secure the structure with new post and pilings would require submittal of a 2nd application to various agencies. These changes would also include transfer of ownership now into Mr. *******'s name, rather than the Investors name. I had advised the Investors 6/29/21 that the application could not be re submitted until Mr. ******* became the official owner. They advised the closing date would be 7/2/21. I arranged a meeting with Mr. ******* 6/29/21 to get his signatures on applications to be ready to submit after the closing. In the meantime, I would also need to get his preferred builders information to get approval from the Building/Zoning Dept. as required . I was then contacted by a builder who declined to work with Mr. *******, due to the disrespectful nature of Mr. *******. I then advised Mr. ******* that I would need him to sign the county applications as the builder, unless he was planning to hire another builder. There was an emergency that would prevent me from attending, so I arranged a courier in my absence to collect signatures. I then sent Mr. ******* a text and an email with my apologies, advising him that my courier would be a few moments late arriving (as she got lost) I then received a forwarded text sent by Mr. ******* to one of the Investors stating that I was unreliable as well as a text from Mr. ******* stating his frustration. On 7/9/21, I received an anonymous call that construction had started on the Dock. I reached out to Ray (now the 3rd builder) to verify and confirm that construction had started. Ray stated that yes, material had been delivered, and dock boards had been removed. Ray stated that Mr. ******* advised him that the project had already been permitted. In the midst of the changes and the lack of understanding on the procedures, Mr. ******* called me 7/10/21 to tell me that I was incompetent, and made threats to report me to the BBB, as well as other social media sites. Claiming that I had told other builders not to work with him. This was absolutely false, and by the time the conversation ended, things were resolved on a good note. Mr. ******* admitted that he was unaware of the permit process and apologized for his behavior. He was very clearly informed that construction was not authorized, and until an official letter of approval was received from Duke, that he was not in compliance with the regulations. He was also advised that he could be fined by Duke Energy Lake Services an additional fee of 700.00 since construction had begun. He agreed to stop construction and was fully prepared to pay a fine, if assessed buy Duke. I continued to work on these changes, and prior to submitting to the county, Mr. ******* agreed to sign the required forms as he would be the builder. All documents were approved by the County 7/16/21. A complete application including all required documentation was submitted to Duke Energy Lake Services 7/19/21. I was contacted by Mr. ******* 8/11/21 via text message advising that Duke Energy Lake Services had not received his application, and stated "I will ask for a full refund from you, and in addition there will be legal action against you and your company" I responded that due tot he nature of his text, I would no longer communicate with him on this. Upon getting confirmation in an email from an admin at Duke that the application had not been received, I immediately resubmitted ANOTHER application to Duke Energy Lake Services including all required documents. A few hours later, I was contacted by Ray, (Dock builder) that It would be in my best interest to refund Mr. *******, and that an application would be submitted by Mr. ******* himself. I advised that Mr. ******* would not be refunded. Mr. ******* had never paid LKN PERMITS, LLC any money, nor was contracted with my company. I firmly believe that Mr. ******* is looking for someone to place blame on, perhaps to avoid having to pay an additional fee for being non complaint, starting construction before approval. According to others in the industry,, I have found this to be a pattern of Mr. *******. In closing;; I was not hired by Mr. *******, therefore he had not fired me as stated in his claim. What does it benefit me to "Lie" as he claims? His statements are false and completely absurd! Mr. ******* told the builder Ray, that he had been approved to begin construction knowing full well that this was not true.

We've heard so much negative feedback about Mickey L***** that I am not very surprised by what's going on. Our builder, realtor, seller agent, many contractors we spoke with all provided negative feedback about her and how she wasn't able to get done anything for them and she was fired for not doing her job properly. This is what we were told. She's been asking us not to contact Duke Energy to check on the status of our application is because they would get pissed with us. She says we were not compliant. I spoke with Dennis Whitaker at Duke Energy about removing dock boards because we didn't know any better, He acknowledged that and he said as long as we don't put new boards on the dock we have nothing to worry about. We found out people at Duke Energy are very nice and understanding rather than how badly Mickey L***** described them to us. When we asked her about the status of our application, she would tell us it is in progress while our application wasn't even submitted to Duke Energy. Again we have proof of this via text messages from her. Once we found out she didn't even submit our application, she sends an email to me that she will immediately submit our application again. I told her not to do that because she has no permission to do this anymore. If she did, there will be more consequences for that as well. We have all the emails, text messages to prove her wrongdoing. I will no longer respond to her comments because this is now a legal matter and will be handled by the court.

Mr. ******* states that he spoke to Dennis W******* about removing boards because he didn't know any better? Mr. ******* told his builder he was approved and permitted when in fact he was NOT! The only reason any further construction did not continue was because I contacted him to advise him to stop further construction. I will contact Dennis as well as the lake rep and make it perfectly clear that he knew exactly what he was doing when he told his builder he had already received his permit, I too, have emails and voicemails to back this up! Per his request to not re submit the application, after it had already been sent, and the fact that this will now be a legal issue I will sstop payment on the checks submitted with his applications totaling 600.00 payable to the agencies. It's unfortunate that is has come to this. Had there been any wrong doing on my part, I would have been happy to refund payment in full to the Investors who hired me to provide services. As far as his claims of negative feedback from others and being "Fired" This is simply not true. I've never been "Fred"
