This was my third use of this company within a less than two year period. The first two uses consisted of carpet installation and painting. Both projects were completed either on time or early. Payment on both occasions consisted of "half of the total cost at the beginning of the project and half at the end." This was done on both occasions. The project (for this complaint) was to update and completely remodel two bathrooms, including new toilets, sinks, floors, drywall and raising of the ceilings (would involve working with electrical, gas and water). The total cost of the project would be $14,000.00. Project began in early August 2021. I paid Gregory (owner) $7,000.00 on August 1, 2021. I had to constantly call Gregory (owner) to see if he and his staff were coming to work (daily). A few hundred pounds of drywall and other debris from the deconstruction of the first bathroom were left in the yard for one month. Notified Gregory of the city ordinance (after two additional weeks, debris was removed.) Was told that there was a leak in the ceiling and the crew would need to repair a portion of the roof to repair it. Did not give consent for this to be done. However, two days later (August 30, 2021) more than half of the metal roof had been removed from the OPPOSITE side of the building. I was told by Gregory that I had authorized it and a new roof would cost $40,000.00. I insisted on the roof being reinstalled. I was never able to receive an answer of why the roof was removed. This company did not initially install the roof. The following week the roof was reinstalled by individuals sent by Gregory. Gregory did not come to the location himself during the re-installation. I have been unable to contact Gregory since then - it is now December 8, 2021, four months (plus) since the project began. Attempted to contact the company that "contracted out" to him. However, was told that there had been similar situations.

      Business response

      01/26/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/12/14) */ We are very sorry for the inconvenience and lack of communication within the project. But we must take into account that our purpose is to do a good job and let them know if we notice something that is not in a position to continue the project. On the other hand, we apologize from the entire Gregory's team letting him know that we are in a position to be able to serve him as we have done on past occasions and be able to solve this situation in the best. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/12/21) */ The response from "Gregory's Team" did not address the issues in the initial complaint. There was no reasoning for the hesitancy displayed by his entire team relating to reporting to work, debris removal and lack of communication for the few times that they came to the premises for work. Also, no reasoning was given as to why a supposed leak on the right side of the building resulted in complete removal of the metal roof (front to back) on the left side of the building. This business is located in a historical church building (more than 100 years old). The recently completed metal roof (done by another company) was removed by Gregory's Team from the steeple to the back of the building. Since the Team re-installed the roof, a continuously increasing large number of roofing nails, screws, washers, etc. have been collected by staff and visitors within our parking lot. Additionally, this incident of Gregory's Team abandoning the project caused distress and duress to staff and the families that we served daily and during funeral services. Customers paid for services that lacked a female restroom, thus needing to utilize a male equipped facility. Business Response /* (4000, 14, 2022/01/17) */ if customer agree we come out and look to see what we could do
