5/16/24 boss buildings installed a 30'x40' garage, the roof has a sag from top to bottom and the front wall bows out 4". they scheduled an appointment on 7/10/ 24 but didn't show or call, rescheduled on 8/20/24 once again no show and no call. I have called several times and sent many pictures through email and text to get my garage repaired. I would like to have the garage taken down and reimbursed the $7,782.90 I have paid but would settle for the repairs. I still owe $4,816.26 and don't want to pay the balance until it is repaired.Thank you,**** ****

Garage is NOT completed, garage doors have not been installed. We have heard nothing from this company on how they plan to finish our garage. They will not respond with a solution to this problem.

      Customer response

      07/17/2024

I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint.

As mentioned in my earlier voice mail, I received a brief message from ******** (?) on July 8th. She stated roughly that they were looking into it. Nothing in detail and no timeline was mentioned as the comments were the standard issue, vague and short. I received no further contact. On July 12th, i called ******* who works under ******** (supposedly) and handles the scheduling for the state of ********. I had corresponded previously with ******* during the work up to get the initial installation scheduled. During the call on the 12th, ******* put me on hold and stated that she had just spoken to ****** who is apparently handling this situation with the garage doors. She stated to me that they were to hear from the garage door manufacturer that day and that ****** would give me a call later or first thing Monday. Today is the 17th and we've heard nothing. In short, they incorrectly installed the building by not noticing that incorrect material had been delivered for my order and due to their negligence then by cutting the front wall studs ~8-12" short thereby not allowing the needed space to install the two cannister doors. It is believed that the fix would be to dismantle the entire building or to completely remove the roof along with the trusses and begin all over to fix. This i believe is why they are dragging their feet. In my opinion they know they have goofed big time and will spend gobs of time and money to remedy their mistake. Any help is greatly appreciated.

      Thanks,

      ***** and ***************************

My wife and I signed a contract for a $50,000 building on December 21, 2023 at exactly 10:50 pm. I called our salesman ******* on January 16th, 2024 requesting a refund. He said no. He said we would need a denial letter from our county's building department to get our money back, but it clearly states in the contract, their company's contract that they wrote, that we can have a refund if we request one within 15 business days. According to the Code of Federal Regulations federal holidays and weekends are NOT business days. The Code of Federal Regulations also states any contract signed after 5 pm Eastern cannot be counted as a business day, but that the following day would be the first business day of that contract. I have called many times and spoken with ******* and *******, the *** about this. They say I made my request for a refund on January 19th, 2024. I have a screenshot of my call on the 16th, witnesses to that call and texts showing I asked for a refund on that day. Even using the 19th as the day, that still complies with their 15 day clause in their contract. I have an email from *******, the *** saying according to them it was 15 days and they are still saying no. After holding my money hostage, they sent me half my money back and said I agreed to that. The offer was half or nothing I am guessing, so I chose half. But I want all my money. *******, the salesman who said I didn't ask for the refund on the 16th, is clearly a liar. The owner will not speak to me. I have asked if he would. No response. So in summary, I have proof I called, call and texts, along with witnesses to this call and half is what they offered. They are basically calling me, my wife and two of my daughters liars, along with disregarding the call and texts that prove I called about the refund. They are a shady company at best. I would never recommend anyone do business with them. It is sad that some businesses seem to thrive on ill gotten gains.

      Customer response

      03/11/2024

As you can see in the contract where I put the stars, the ************* the contract was signed.  The 15 day clause also has stars beside it.
Boss buildings was closed the week of Christmas so those days, by Boss's own admission, don't count as business days. So you have December 21, January 2,3,4,58,9,10,11,16.  That's 11 business days.  Even if you use the phantom day of January 19th like they are saying, that's only 14 days.
I also have screenshots of the call I made on January 16th and talked for 7 minutes and screenshots of texts right after that call ended the coincide with that call.  These were to my wife saying ******* said we could not have a refund unless the county denied our building permit.

I also have an email from ******* the General manager where he states it was 15 days to them.

      Business response

      03/12/2024

      Good Afternoon **************,
We believe that the refund we gave was more than fair. I am attaching some key points in our contract that back up why we believe it is fair. The colored doors amount to a total of $5,121 after removing the frame out we do in house. The contract states that color doors are non refundable due to us ordering them specifically for each custom order. The refund the customer received was a total of $3,555.74 which is $1,565.26 more than the $1,990.48 that he should have received. The portion of the contract the customer has highlighted is in regards to the seller which would be ** Carports.

      Customer response

      03/12/2024

I am rejecting this response because:Their response is a lie.  The contract does state that colored doors that are custom ordered cannot be refunded.  I do not dispute that.  My dispute is that I requested a refund that meets their 15 day clause.  The clause I put stars beside on my pdf and said to look at.  The did not order any material for me.  I made it clear when I made the deposit not to order anything.  Also, I guarantee you they do not have an email to me, a text to me or a conversation with me on their recorded calls that ever says they ordered a door or multiple doors for me.  It stands to reason that the very first time I requested a refund they would have brought this up, but they didn't and that is because they didn't order any doors for me.  I had at least two conversations with ******* and he never mentioned they had already ordered doors.  I had at least 4 different conversations with *******, the *** and he also never mentioned that they ordered custom doors for me already.  He stuck to the reason for no refund was that I had waited too long.  I also have an email from ******* where he very clearly mentions the timeframe and very clearly DOES NOT mention doors or custom doors being ordered.  Also in one of the conversations I had with ******* he said they would not give me a refund, but would apply my deposit to a future building, so if they had ordered five thousand dollars worth of doors they couldn't use, were they just going to eat that loss if I ordered a building in the future?  No, it's because they didn't order any doors for me.  That is just something else dishonest they are doing to try and keep from giving my full refund.  Also one of the conversations, I believe the first one I had with *******, on January 19th I specifically stated to him that they had not ordered any materials for my building and he did not dispute that.  One would also have to question why they would give more refund than they were supposed to had they really ordered those doors and spent over $5000 on them.  They wouldn't do that. When things don't add up, it's because things are incorrect.  Had they actually ordered doors, that would have been the first thing out of their mouths when I called for a refund, and I would not have been able to dispute the contract because it is clearly written about custom doors.  They record their calls.  Tell them to produce a call that has them telling me they ordered custom doors for me.  Tell them to produce any call with me and them.  You will hear how they are standing on not giving me a refund because of the timeframe, with no mention of ordering doors.  I will acknowledge that this dispute is very likely to not get settled to my liking if they keep being dishonest.  That makes it near impossible.  Hard to believe they are willing to throw their own character and the business's reputation in the gutter over this.  I am the only one involved in this dispute that is being honest.

I purchases a building and told the company this would have to pass inspection. They showed up Friday after no one at 430pm and left on a Sunday. They installed the door on the garage backwards after I asked for the door to be on the posit side of the building they said that wouldnt be a problem. The roll up door does and hasnt worked properly and the roof in one bay leaks water when it rains. They continue to want money but never fix the issues and the. Wanted to charge me for engineering paper work on a building they knew needed to pass inspection and engineering. The county came out and said I need engineering on the building and they sent me some kind of paper work to another building not the one I have. I have asked for the owner of the company to call me they said he did but didnt leave a message. To the day I have not heard from any one to resolve this just that they want the remaining balance and Im not willing to pay unless they fix the issues.the cost was around ***** I payed around *****. Ive encoured a lot of stress and I also had to sign a statement with the county and accepting all responsibilities on this building because I couldnt get no help. They filed it in the court system and it says I cant sell my place untill 2 years is up for the building.i dont think I was treated fair on this and need some help.

The building ** Carports built is up to code in the installed area. In our contract it states that it is the responsibility of the customer to gather the information as to what is required for permitting. *************** did not gather that information. When a building is sold it comes with generic prints which most counties accept if the county requires site specific prints they are an extra charge. ** Carports was not told about the repairs needed until yesterday and have started working on a plan to go back. We have also tried calling with no answer or call back. ** Carports also offered the site specific plans at an additional cost but customer denied.

Ordered a building to be built by N.C. Carports and garages for over $8,000 on 9/13/2023.Sent pictures of ground that the building would be put on top of as well as the permit approval on 10/9 via saved text to Adryanna. Was told would be about 2 weeks. Was contacted that I was on the schedule for the week of 11/13. (No call no show) was told the following week. Later informed 12/14 will be install, took off work (again) -no call no show, was told Tuesday 12/19.12/19-no call no show, was told of weather delays (it was mostly sunny out)12/20 - crew arrived after dark to install, building is installed 12/20-12/21 but is not done to blueprint and is not safe. Paid crew in full with a certified check as building is standing but inspection is yet to be done.12/28 - building failed inspection, only used 4 ground anchors when 24 are needed per provided blue print specification 12/28 sent information to ** carports 1/9 was told manager is still reviewing 1/11 no word 1/27 voicemail left saying crew would be out to install 20 missing ground anchors 1/28 -no show, no call 2/9 - asking if next Wednesday was okay for the ground anchor installation confirmed it was 2/14 - was told crew will not be out until Friday 2/17 - crew comes out at 7pm in the dark, tries to s**** in one anchor. Hits a rock and says to call the office and leaves. 0 anchors installed. Tries to get me to sign something and I refuse.2/20 - called office, informed them of situation. Said they will work with the crew to figure something out. No expected timeline. We now have a building that is not safe and will not pass inspection as it is not built to their own blueprint specification. I have likely placed over 50 calls in total, with no definitive resolutions, install dates or times. I am now worried we will have to knock the building down and I get a refund, or I will have to contact (and pay) my lawyer to sue ** car ports. Would like this fixed or a building built to code

On 11/1/23 a deposit was paid for a commercial building that we planned to build. The quote states the deposit was non-refundable UNLESS the customers city/county rejects the permit. Upon paying the deposit we began applying for permits. The county came back and on the response noted "No Commercial Activity, living quarters, or sleeping quarters allows" and "NOTE:The structure shall not be used for commercial purposes". We went an email to the sales rep, Byron, relaying the information and asking for the deposit back since the permit would not be approved for commercial use. On 12/15/23 Byron responded he would forward to management to receive a refund. We emailed to follow up on 12/23/23, on 1/2/24 Byron responded he would follow up with management again. On 1/22/24 the manager Jeffrey T. indicated that he could not do a refund. We spoke again and he said did not receive this and would speak with Byron, I requested his email to send the documentation to. Because of the agreement laid out upon paying the deposit, we should be due the entire amount back due to the county not approving the building for the intended use. Wew have been waiting for over a month for refund with no resolution.

I signed the contract with **** ********, and it did not say that my 1,000 deposit was nonrefundable, as a matter of fact it says the right opposite, "Rejection of Order and Cancellation of Contract. Seller reserves the right, at any time before installation of the Unit, to rejects this Order or cancel this
contract by notice in writing to Buyer. Upon giving such notice, Seller will refund any deposit received from Buyer. Buyer agrees that such refund shall be Buyer’s exclusive remedy for such cancellation." This is your contract, you wrote it, You know what it says about refunding the deposit. You lied about the refund, now lets look at the rest of your reply, . "***** ** ***** has sent us screenshots of notes where they tried to schedule the structure and are still willing to install the structure. 'This not true either, they did call me one time, and wanted me to give them more money, they said that i signed a contract and it says that i will pay half before they got started, I don't remember signing any contract with Cost to Cost, and my contract says Due Upon Installation

$4543.70, you contract says. "Buyer agrees to pay the price, including any increase for any Change to the Order, in full at the time of installation" again this is your contract, you wrote it, not me. I am not being unreasonable, by asking for my deposit back, I signed a contract with you all on Aug 8th I do believe, this is November 16th, this lacks 2 weeks being 4 months, you want to add interest if a person does not pay up after installation, I think i should get a little interest for having to wait so long, If you complete the carport fine, if not give me my money back, I am a senior, and i guess you think you can do whatever you want to me,

I paid $29,000 to have **** ********* install a building on my property. After several delays they finally installed the building. When I asked the county to come out and do the final inspection it was discovered there was a part of the securing structure left off. I contacted **** ********* and after several weeks they finally sent a crew out to fix their mistake. Once they arrived I was told they are unable to install the additional supports per the plan. They now tell me they are trying to get the engineer to alter the plans to not include the extra supports. They claim they have 1 year to fix any mistakes. It is currently costing me $1200 a month in rental fees for another building while waiting for Boss to resolve this issue. I can not wait a year! Throughout this process Boss reps have shown no concern for their mistakes, claimed to have reached out and talked to my "wife" who doesn't exist (I live alone) and while the sales process went well, after sale has been a nightmare. I requested they reach out to the engineer to find out where they are with the change, and was told "Sorry, we can't do that". This is the poorest customer service I've received, ever. Fix my building or refund my money.

I ordered and purchased a 41,000$ garage from the NC Garage Co. I did everything they asked of me. In the end I paid them in full, when they were finishing up my garage, they damaged and had to remove the 14 Ft Garage Door Top Seal. This seal is extremely important as it creates the final barrier for the top of the garage door to prevent animals, such as birds, bees, from getting into the structure. Just picture the top of your house where the roof meets the wall, and there is wide open 4 1/2 inch gap you can see outside thru it. I signed for it damaged, the company said we will take care of this right away. That was over a month ago and now they are telling me that I have to wait until another installing crew is in my area. I live in the country…I paid them in full for a job they did not finish and thus the contract has been broken. I have tried to have another company come out to take care of it, but it will relinquish my warranty on the Garage. .Not fair, so now they have not returned my phone call to get a date to have the garage finished.

We do apologize for any inconvenience you have had with getting the repair done. However they have you on schedule to fix this week, nobody was ignoring you at all, they were working to get the schedule. With any repairs we have to schedule those, just like when the building was first purchased, we have to have a route in the area to get to those, even though they are a priority we have to have a route in the area. But the main thing is getting your building fixed and they should have it fixed this week, if everything stays on schedule it should be finished by tomorrow evening.

Paid $42000. for a 30x80 building which was delayed for 30 days. The blueprints provided would not pass my countys requirements in ** for the snow load so they made me purchase new drawings for $3100. When crew arrived the first thing they did was deficate in our fields (family farm). I had to call to tell the crew to use my bathroom INSTEAD of our pastures. Building went up in 3 days as soon as the crew left I went to pull down one of the 12ft roll up doors and the door broke I immediately called Sindy Santana to have the crew turned around to fix the door before they left town..no answer..sent photos in and requested a repair of the roof leaks and replacement of the door a month ago and still haven't gotten a date for the service. The garage door is a factory defect (the welds broke) and I've demanded a replacement not a repair to deaf ears. Brand new building installed 6/6/2023 with a broken door and 7 roof leaks and still isn't fixed which means I cannot get my U&O permit! I call repeatedly only to get the response "im still workingon the schedule"...really for a month???....help!

We do apologize for the issues you have experienced, the manufacturer has been working on a schedule to get a crew back out fix the issues,  your repair is scheduled for 7/18/2023, those are estimated times due to it is traveling construction. However they do have your repair scheduled. In response to the blueprints, we do offer generic blueprints at no additional cost,  but sometimes the county does require site specific plans, or wet seals which is an additional cost, which is in the contract terms and agreements you signed. However we want to fix the building and get you the building you ordered.
