Regarding account # ****** ******* **** **** ******** *** ******* ** *****  Prior to selling my house in **** ********, I phoned G&B and spoke with Shelton. I informed him that I was selling my home and needed to get everything finalized with them prior to closing, I asked if I would owed them anything and what I needed to do to get the new homeowner set up at the house. Shelton said that I did not own any money and that I would only need the new owner to contact G&B in order to take over the house account. About a week prior to closing I received a bill from G&B stating I owed them $171.20. I called but Shelton was not there and I spoke with a lady who told me I owed the money due to leaving my contract early. I told her that I spoke with Shelton and he said I would not owe any money. After not getting anywhere with her, I told her to have my tank picked up and my contract canceled if I had to pay anyway. She refused and said the new owner had already signed a new agreement. I don't how this happened when they did not own the property at that time. I asked that David call me back since he was not there either. He never called. I've left messages for him but can't get a returned call. I don't see how I owe the money when I had the new owner take over and I spent thousands with them on appliances and installation, but I can't even get a returned call to discuss the matter, and now they are even adding finance charges to a bill that I was told I would never receive. Seams to me like greed at this point...

      Business response

      08/18/2023

According to our records, we were notified of the potential home sale on 5/26/23 by the potential new owner speaking with Kathy R. At this time, all required new customer paperwork was sent to the potential new owner* ***** ********. We were contacted again on 5/31/23 by Mr. ****. He spoke with Shelton, and it was reported that closing was to take place on 6/8/23. On 6/6/23, upon received paperwork back from Ms. ********, Kathy contacted Mr. **** and notified him that the new owner was not willing to sign the rebate form for the water heater and he would be billed the prorated amount, as highlighted in the schedule on the rebate agreement signed by Mr. **** on 7/26/21. Both the note from Kathy's conversation on 6/6/23 and the signed agreement are included in this response.

In conclusion, when Mr. **** contacted G&B on 5/31/23, he is correct, he didn't owe a balance as he states. However, at that time, it was unknown to G&B or Mr. **** that the new owner would not sign and agreement taking over Mr. ****'s payment obligation of the rebate agreement. G&B further contacted Mr. **** and notified him of the new owner's desire to not sign the documents and making him aware of the pending billing two days prior the the sale of the property.

The charge on the account is legitimate and correct. If Mr. **** would like to pay the original amount of $171.20 to honor his obligation as highlighted in the attached documentation that he signed, all finance charges will be removed.

      Sincerely,

      Anthony S********

I am rejecting this response because:

****_note 6-6-23.png Does not download... Probably because it's made up like the rest of this response.

I was never told anything related to the new customer not signing anything. This water heater is still in service and the new customer is still buying propane from G&B. I will pay the $171. If they can live with it, I can live without it. I don't have to use them in my new cabin.

I have still to this date not received a returned message.

      Disappointed,

      ***** ****
