Ordered on line for a pick up and the total came to just over 59.04. They shorted us one of the dishes a spicy cauliflower appetizer which was about 10 dollars. So we should have paid totally about 48 bucks and we added a tip of 3 bucks for a pickup order. I looked on my credit card and I was charged 59.04 and an additional 2 separate charges one for 6.45 and another for 9.45. We called them and explained that we were charged a total of 74.94 and was told they have a policy of an automatic tip amount of 18% on orders over 50 bucks and they offered us a 13 dollar gift certificate for their errors. So we paid 74.94 minus the 13 dollar gift certificate for a total of 61.94 for 46 dollars worth of take out food. So I was ripped off a total of 15.94 and thats only assuming I pick up the gift certificate which I probably will not so my total loss will be 28.94. How can this place stay open? This is so wrong in so many ways. The policy they spoke of is not disclosed anywhereCustomer response

I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint.
I have filed my complaint and voiced my concerns on the fraudulent practices of over charging on multiple government and social media platforms and I have yet to here a response from anyone at the Root Trackside in Elon. I think it’s very important that folks like myself use the BBB and it’s services to offer an opportunity for businesses to settle their disputes through an unbiased third party such as the BBB. No response usually is an admission of guilt and so my fellow patrons beware that this is probably not a one time instance but common practice.
