On 12/31/2023 I join this *************************** while stationed in ************ **, shortly after I joined I received orders to leave the country and I communicated such information with the Manager ****** as well as communication with the management team via email. I was informed that the account will be paused for a year and I can resume at any fitness clubs based on my location when I return to the US. Upon my return I contacted the club and spoke to an assistant manager ***** who informed me I do nit have an account with the fitness club and gave me a contact number for *********************** a collection agency. During my telephone encounter with ***** the representative informed me that my account with ********************** was only paused for three month and could not understand why a staff member would have informed me of a one year pause. I was also informed that I need to pay for the one year membership and to include the gym membership, other late fees/charges alone on one personal training session on, all of which I have not utilized but is required to be prepaid need to be paid to the collection agency and that will relinquish me of any responsibility to the health club and I also will not benefit or be able to utilize the gym after payment, essentially I am expected to pay $ **** to a collection agency and walk way without any services. Not only did the fit for life club not honor the after agreement but they are engaging is unethical business practices.This business did not loss any resources nor did I utilized any services that cost them anything and they instead choose to not work with a potential customer but have made a deliberate effort to ruin my credit in an effort to make over a $**** for services that did not rendered.My desire is to be remove from collection and if there is a resolution to be part of a gym close to my home that *** be a less than ideal option but that is better that the current situation.Initial Complaint

** August 2021 I moved to ******** and reached out about canceling my membership. I was told they would email me for the cancellation process and I never received an email. I have been trying to cancel ever since because they have charged my account every month since August 2021. I am a single mother and dont deserve to be taken advantage of considering Im no longer in **************. I want refunded every month I have paid since then they obviously didnt care to help with the cancellation process. Now I know that *** not be ideal but I need them to stop charging my account however every time I call I get the runaround.
