My family signed a lease agreement to rent Unit ***************************** Apartments in ************, **. When we attempted to move in the apartment was swarming with roaches. the floor was littered with dead roaches and living roaches were all over the apartment. The Property Manager (******) sent a maintenance person to confirm the condition of the apartment and also viewed the apartment herself. We informed them that we could not bring our young children and asthmatic teenager into these unsanitary conditions. We left our belongings inside the unit and agreed with the Property Manager that we would stay in a hotel until they could have pest control come out and take care of the roaches and then have the unit cleaned and sanitized. 4 weeks later they could not get the roaches under control so agreed to release us from our lease agreement. After multiple attempts to contact management there has been no response to our requests for the promised reimbursement or refund for monies paid to rent the apartment that we never occupied because it was uninhabitable.Initial Complaint

I applied for this property 11-05-2021. I was told that it would take 48-72 hours for a response and here it is 12/1/2021 and I havent received a response! I have sent them every piece of information that they have asked for and I still dont have an answer and I start a new job in NC (Im attempting to move from GA) in less than 2 weeks! Every time I call its a different answer on why I havent received an answer and at this point I'm livid!Business response

We were PCSing to our new duty station from fort Bragg NC to fort Carson CO, we put gave our orders to the management to break our lease even though it was up end of October. This business knew we were leaving the 8th of October. They said they were putting our lease breakage to the end of the month even though our lease ended then. They charged us a full months rent when by law they had to charge us for the days we were occupying the unit due to my husbands rights being military. We were told that to clean the carpets in our apartment included the pet deep clean and the management said 80$ she then changed it to $85, we got our deposit back yesterday 11/11/2021 and out of a 400$ deposit they gave us back $82. Meanwhile they charged us 85$ twice to clean the apartment and $110 for a pet cleaner and they never disclosed this to us nor did we leave the apartment in bad condition. We originally paid 1350$ to move in and magically that money went missing and no one can tell us where our records are missing when keystone took over contour who owned the property originally. They moved us into a unfinished apartment with trash, and no AC etc. we bought a lot of things for the apartment and we left it in better condition then we moved in. We also had a inspector which indicated the unit we lived in was a health hazard and they had exposed copper wires, the AC had built up moisture there was so much wrong with this place. They never did anything about it. Then I receive mail updates with the postal mail for this property still since I still receive mail. I am getting notifications someone else lives there and is getting mail there now, but we never were refunded for someone living there after we paid the rent. With the electric we paid PWC our final bill which was from 9/17/21-10/8/21 and we cancelled the electric the 8, and the apartment complex put the electric in their name the 8th, the apartment complex charged us electric from the 8-19 when this was never included.Business response
