I contacted Bobby Taylor oil company in early 2019 to have them provide me a tank and install the gas line hook up for my stove. They did the installation and provided me with a tank of their choosing and informed me that I would need to call them when it reaches 20% of gas left to refill it. During the installation it was clear this was only to be used for cooking and nothing else. At no time did they inform me there would be a charge for the rental of the tank nor a penalty for not using the refill service within a certain time frame. I had since refilled the tank with them once to my recollection in late 2021. May 31 I received a bill for $75, I called to inquire about the charge and the receptionist said it was a non usage fee. I informed her I had 65% gas still in the tank and am actively using it for cooking as I always have. She said the tank could be used elsewhere. I informed her I would find another company to deal with. At no time did I ask her to end my service immediately. When I returned home that evening I went to turn on my stove and realized the tank was gone. They came without permission, without notification and removed my tank with the 65% of gas I already paid for in it. I called the next day to ask why and ***** barked at me that I refused to pay the bill. I told him I certainly did not request for my tan to be picked up and he hung the phone up on me. At no time did I give them permission to enter my yard nor had I requested them to pick up the tank. They tank was indeed their property but the gas inside the tank was mine because I paid for it and they stole it without any notification of their intent and have yet to compensate me for it. This is theft &bullying me into using their service at their pace. Had they made this known when I originally borrowed the tank from them I would have chosen otherwise but companies are not allowed to change their policies for existing customers, and if they do they certainly are required to give full noticeBusiness response

With the price of steel going up so much we can not have an expensive propane tank at a customers home that is not producing some revenue. We are now charging rent or a non-use fee if the tank is not filled within a year. ******************** called our office about this charge and it was explained to her that we now charge this fee if the tank is not filled within a year. ******************** told ** she was not paying the fee for the tank and was informed at that time we would have to pick the tank up. Her refund for the gas in the tank will be processed asap and mailed to her current address. I wish we would have kept her business but cost have gone up a lot since covid and adjustments have had to be made.
