The parts department wouldn't give me a part number which makes no sense. They said it was just what their manager said and gave no real reason

On 7/3/23 I took my **** Honda in for Interval Maintenance. I also purchased 4 tires, partly because the service advisor told me there was a rebate on the tires. Turns out there was no rebate. I had to find this out myself because the service advisors provided me with no paperwork to submit (wonder why). Upon checkout, the service advisor did have time to tell me that my car needed rear brakes which he warned me not to put off replacing too long and risk "going into the metal" and he also said my real wheel cylinder was leaking and would be $670.61 to fix. They didn't give me an estimate to fix the brakes. I took the car to another mechanic for a second opinion and found that none of these repairs were necessary. NONE.

I have a 2017 Acura ***. Recently, it started missing severely. I limped home and had the car flat-bedded to Apple Tree Acura (ATA). Their initial diagnosis with an estimate of $770+ was that the car had twice as much oil in it than was proper. This had fouled the spark plugs, so they all had to be replaced. I indicated that the last oil change was done at the Greenville Acura dealer nearly six months ago. Impossible for the car to be driven that long with an overfilled oil reservoir, without any symptoms. There is a three or four-step process to checking the oil in this car, and ***'s "master tech" clearly didn't even know how to do that properly. Two or three days later, I returned to ATA with a flat-bed to retrieve my car and have it taken to Greenville ($275 charge). ATA insisted that they be paid for the parts they'd ordered (plugs alone, $600) before they'd release the car (because "they couldn't return the parts"). I refused. My wife had parked her car outside the bay where the *** was being stored, until the parts were scheduled to arrive on the following Monday. I went out to tell her the situation, and I found the flat bed had arrived and she had moved her car so the the *** could be backed out and loaded. As I approached, I saw the lights on the *** go on, the door go up and the car being backed out. When asked, the mechanic said he had been asked to move the car to the nearby Honda garage, obviously to sequester it while the service manager was 'negotiating' with me about the parts. Fortunately, this tactic was thwarted and I loaded the car on the flat bed.I returned to the service desk where, not surprisingly, their tune had changed and I was not going to be charged for the parts. Meanwhile, my wife observed the service manager out taking pictures of the car being loaded on the flat bed, I guess as evidence I was stealing my own car. Unscrupulous, incompetent, border-line criminal. Otherwise, an overall peachy experience.
