      On May 31, 2023 we traded in our 2018 **** Edge for a new 2023 **** Edge at Franklin Ford, Franklin, NC. While we were at the dealership, our sales rep called Upstart (who we had the car loan through) and obtained a payoff with a per diem. We took possession of our new vehicle, and the dealership was to overnight a payoff check. The entire months of June and July go by, and Upstart informs us by e-mail the first week of August, 2023, that $16.27 was left owing on the loan. We immediately called Franklin Ford. The Finance Manager was very rude and asked if we obtained the correct payoff. It wasn't our responsibility to obtain the payoff. I reached out to our sales rep ******* who was very helpful and said we needed to get up with Accounting on Monday, 8/7/23. We stopped by on 8/7/23 but the lady in Accounting refused to meet with us. I asked if she could at least call Upstart and settle this issue, and provided their e-mail and phone number. I was told Franklin Ford would call Upstart. Meanwhile, we responded to Upstart (in **********) that they needed to contact Franklin Ford because they did the payoff. Upstart then informs us that a $15.00 late charge was going to be levied if the outstanding balance wasn't paid by 8/10/23. It really wasn't the amount of money, it was the principle of the thing. We bought a $49,000.00 brand new 2023 **** Edge from Franklin Ford and they couldn't even address this issue of an outstanding $16.27 on a car we didn't own anymore, and if it wasn't paid was going to continue to accrue interest and late fees, and be a smear on my credit report. I paid it on 8/9/23, but I think Franklin Ford should have acknowledged the issue, paid it, and resolved the matter. They failed to look out for their customer. They also failed to completely pay off a car loan on a car I didn't have possession of anymore, they did. If we need vehicle servicing in the future, it will not be at Franklin Ford.

      Whatever problem you have with your ****************** vehicle do NOT take it Franklin Ford for service.I wont shop there for anything else at all.Sales will rip you off and the service department is anything but service!!!All indicative of poor leadership. You cant tell me that you cant figure out my portion of my bill and release my truck, instead youre telling me that you have to run it through the warranty company first when you know the customer portion is the deductible and the tow bill.I give them a minus ****.

      Explained to customer the repair had to be sublet to a transmission repair shop, we contacted the customer and informed him that the repair was completed as soon as the vehicle was returned to us and the repair was verified. The warranty company did not have a final approval of towing and repair at the time the vehicle was returned, we promptly called and received approval and returned the vehicle to the customer.
