I entered an agreement with AMI Builders & Redemption Roofing (listed as Redemption Roofing and Restoration with BBB) *** * **** ******* ****** ******* ** *****, on 4/01/22 for repair and replacement of exterior siding, attic insulation, exterior light installation and electrical inspection of attic wiring (recommended in preparation for insulation) and other exterior repairs for a total of $19,209.66. I gave a deposit of $3,000 to ***** ******, the person I negotiated the original terms with and who said he would be the main carpenter on the job. I was told that work would begin that day 4/06/22 and would continue the next three days, but no work began that day, was cancelled for a chance of rain the next day, and on the following day, 4/08/22, Mr. ****** texted that he was sick but that their company's painter would come on 4/11/22. No one came on the 11th. Subsequently, the office called to set up times for the electrical work and pressure washing that they said was necessary. The electricians came on their appointed day and the pressure washers came to do work over 2 days. They came the first day but not the second. I called the office to ask to be notified when the pressure washers would be there, but they came without my knowledge when I wasn't home. The pressure used that day did extensive damage to my exterior wood siding, exterior sheetrock inside my carport, stained interior wood, damaged veneer on the inside of an exterior door and damaged one of the fixtures that had just been installed. Cleanup inside was extensive. After another cancelled appointment for Mr. ****** and the painter, the office said they would both come 4/29/22. They neither came nor called. I sent a certified letter to ***** ********, owner, on 5/18/22 requesting a refund of the original $3000 as they had abandoned the job and had left me with property damage. I paid $1,463 to have the damage to my sheetrock repaired. I could accept a reduction for the cost of 3 light fixtures only.Business response

Hello,
We honestly thought that we had resolution with Ms. *********. Her estimate for work to be performed was over $19,000. We had already performed some work that was on the estimate when through miscommunication from mostly our end unfortunately, she "fired" us from finishing the remaining work. We made every attempt to apologize and right the wrong, but she had decided to move on. Although we have more money into the job than the original deposit that she is requesting, we will work with her on returning a portion of it. Our goal is to make past, present and future customers as happy and pleased as possible. We deeply regret that we did not communicate with Ms. ********* in a timely fashion and were not able to continue our professional relationship. I sincerely hope that we may find a resolution that both parties are comfortable with.
Thank you,
*****
