            Around the third week of November 2022, I joined Planet Fitness. The same day I joined, I was working out, and I got a call that my brother had suddenly passed away. I wasnt a big fan of the gym to begin with, so I promptly left, and I never returned. I have asked the company multiple times in written form and face-to-face to stop charging my bank account $40 every month for a gym that Ive never been to. There sign up promise is that is no contract. I went to planet fitness January ********************************************************************************************************************************* some money considering I have asked multiple times to no avail to cease my membership, considering I have never been there. They were very unpleasant the last time I went in January, manager even saying that I had a contract even though the entire purpose of signing up at Planet Fitness is that there is no contract.

            They are a rip off with illegal tactics of receiving funds and not hold up to their verbal obligation. When you try to cancel with them they said you cannot if you owe a bill. However, they continue collect funds from you without any services. So they are receiving free money without the services. I dont have money to give to planet fitness.

            The billing of memberships is clearly outlined in the agreement that is emailed to every customer. If a member joins in club the billing and cancellation of billing is explained in person. Unfortunately the service is provided even if not used. We pride ourselves on an easy cancellation process and just requires the member to come in to cancel. It is the responsibility of the member to pay for the service while the membership is still active, therefore if the membership dues are past due they must be collected before a cancellation can take place. We certainly hope to be able to retain our members and encourage their fitness journey.
