My vehicle, a 2017 **** Escape, was towed to this business on 7/16/24 to figure out why it would not start. After waiting until 8/2/24 to finally hear something about if they were able to fix my vehicle, I was told there was nothing more they could do and to have it towed, at my own expense, to ****. On 8/10/24 I had it towed to a **** dealership closer to my home and they were able to diagnose it within a few days and let me know that I would need a new engine. I have a powertrain warranty with Asurion that I bought through Westgate when I purchased the vehicle. I have asked Westgate on multiple occasions to release the vehicle to be worked on at **** since that's where I was advised to take it, but they refuse because warranty work is guaranteed pay. Even though they could not diagnose the problem initially they want my trust to replace the entire engine. I was also told today by *****, a sales manager, that Mitsubishi does not care about the used cars they sell, only the new ones.Business response

The service contract they purchased is through Assurant and clearly states that the vehicle must come back to Westgate Triad Mitsubishi for repairs. Westgate Triad Mitsubishi will make it a priority as soon as it gets here.Business response

I paid 3 to 4 times the value of the vehicle. I was overwhelmed by the salesman actions to me buying a car. He kept doing things without my knowledge. I was charged for things I did not know was happening. One thing I refused and it was added anyway, the **************** Contract. Another was GAP. I did not know at the time this was happening. He just just kept bringing paperwork one after another. I could not keep up. I never financed a car before so I was at a disadvantage. I just let it be out of my lack of knowledge. It has stressed me out for a year and a half. I want to do something if possible. I was given false facts about the cars history or misconstrued facts.Customer response

Customer reached out to the business on Monday and no one has called back. Customer states additional items were added to the loan that he did not request.Business response

We are very sorry to hear that the customer is unhappy. We have reviewed the deal from 10/05/2022 and do not see where the customer was mislead in any way. All paperwork that he discusses was signed by him. Also, car history report was signed by him.
If anything else is required, please let us know.

I am rejecting this response because:
I told them I could not afford the extra insurance and to remove it from the bill. I told at least three of the salesmen and mechanics when I was checking the car over. They did not remove the charges. I did not realize it until I was trying to refinance the car. Then I saw those charges were not removed.Business response

Depending on mileage, ******* can cancel the products that he is referring to. In order to do so, he would need to stop by the dealership so we can verify current mileage. There would be a pro-rated amount refunded depending on the mileage left on the vehicle service contract. Thank you, ***************************
