      This company has been charging us for things in our apartment that should repair not even that they told us that we have to leave lights on when we move out until someone else move in but duke energy told them that it's not so see i moved down stairs because I'm disable I can't climb stairs like I use to so they sent us a invoice today from 06/02/2020 we haven't seen they are finding things that they can get money garbage dumpster that everyone use charge us for extra load I'm tired of it can't leave until I get out of this contract please solve this problem

      We are in receipt of your complaint and appreciate the opportunity to respond.  Mr. and Mrs. ****** put in a request to move from an upstairs apartment where they were under an existing lease to a downstairs apartment when they realized that it had become available.  We were more than happy to make an accommodation but explained to the ******s that they would need to pay for any expenses we incur for their move.  We did not charge any admin fee for moving or relocation.  We sent the ******s a bill for the electricity and water that was used to clean the apartment.  They did not clean the carpet and we had it to have the carpets cleaned as well in order to re-lease their old apartment which they were still financially responsible for.  The ******s have leased the property from us since June of 2018 and we have completed over 20 work orders.  Until receiving this complaint, I thought we had a good working relationship with the tenant.  The ******s have only been invoiced for the utilities ($52.81 for electric and $26.44 for the water) and for an extra dump fee ($85 which is the cost that they recycling company charged us for an additional pickup) associated with them relocating.  The ******s had put an excessive number of items in the dumpster from their move and we explained to the ******s that the dumpster is for household trash only.  Large items, such as couches, household furniture must be disposed of by the tenant at any of the local landfills.  The remainder of the 8-unit complex tenants were complaining that they could not throw away their household garbage because the ******s had completely filled the dumpster with their items from their move.  
      In regard to the ******s wanting to get out of their contract, we are more than happy to work out an amicable settlement with them.  Their lease terminates in December, 2023 but we would be open to renegotiating an earlier termination date.  The local h*****g authority is desperately seeking affordable h*****g in the area.  H*****g vouchers for one-bedroom units are $925/mo and the ******s are only being charged $520/mo.  I'm not quite sure why Mrs. ****** sent a picture of the towel bar but as you can see in the picture a new towel bar was installed prior to her move in.  The ceramic towel bar that was broken by a prior tenant is no longer manufactured anymore and it could not be replaced without further damaging the tilework.  No complaints from Mrs. ****** have been received about the towel bar that I am aware of and to my knowledge she was aware of the condition of the property prior to move in.
      We look forward to an amicable resolution to this concern raised by our tenant.  We have attached pictures of the apartment prior to their move in to further show the condition of the property.
