When scheduling this septic tank pumping with the customer I explained to her that if we have to dig the septic lid out up to two feet it would be $370 but if they had a lid at ground level that we could get the solids out then it would be $320. Told her once we get out there the pump truck crew would make sure it was a pipe we could get all from then we would or we would have to dig the lid for the tank out.
Once we arrived at the customer’s property, we realized they did have a smaller pipe opening but due to the fact it was large enough and not being very deep we could pump it out effectively. We had sent the drivers with a bill for $370.00 for the lady at the property. But since we didn’t have to dig it out, we charged her the normal price of 320.00. We were not told about the brick flower bed curbing until we received the letter from the BBB or we would have fixed it. After the drivers had left the property the customer's husband called the office and was very belligerent and would not allow our personnel to explain how we had charged for it. At this time, he became very angry and cussed the office personnel. This is not acceptable to me, and I will never stand for my office or any personnel to be spoken to in this way. What I said is correct, but I do not know what this person’s issue is because he was charged the correct rate that we should have charged at this point. I would not allow our office personnel to speak with this gentleman and I told him myself and he was the same way to me. I then told him I would have no more dealings with him.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
That is not the Conversation we had.i was told by the lady on the phone that they did not pump from a 6 inch pipe at all because it wouldnt let them pump all the sludge from the bottom of the tank . And as you see from the pic that was taken after they left they didnt pump all of the tank out . I told them it was fine to dig the lid up and to leave it uncoved so i could add a riser . And they still tried to charge us the full amount when they didnt dig the lid . This is just a company that will tell you one thing and do what is the qucikest and Easiest to get you money . If you tell sombody you dont do it one because it not good pratice then do it that way . And then damaged my yard and flower bed leaving .Initial Complaint

On March 15th, 2022, i paid Bumgarner Septic $785 to pump my tank, install a riser gaurd, and find and fix the problem as to why my septic was backing up. They pumped my tank and installed a riser. They said they did not have the proper tools to assess the issue but i should be fine and to call them if i had any issues and they would, " get me taken care of". Well, April 25th,2022 my septic was backed up and i emailed to cash in on my "get me taken care of coupon". They immediately started telling me that my drain field was clogged and i would need a new drain field costing me $5-6,000.00. Things got heated and it came to the point that i had to call another company. The new company that came out, found that they installed the riser in the wrong location as the riser was supposed to be placed over the tee and filter access which the new company did by installing an access hole in the tank and installing a riser in the proper location. After doing so, *** ***** found that i had a clogged filter that was not allowing septic to get to the drain field. I have photos of the clogged filter and the certified septic technician probed the drain field and showed me there was no water water anywhere. I also had to pay for the septic to be pumped again. I paid the company *** ***** $1200.00 4/27/22 for their services. The $785 paid to Bumgarner septic could have been avoided if they had done the job properly. Or put in other words, If Bumgarner had pumped my septic, installed the riser in the proper location, and fixed my problem, i would have paid them an additional $415.00 and only had one service visit and only had my septic back up once in my home and only had to dig up my yard once, and only spend an entire day with septic crews once. Given they charged me for work that had to be redone in less than a month and a half, i expect nothing less than a full refund which i find reasonable as i am not even asking for compensation for the extra digging, time, and frustration.
