I have a remaining balance of $29.24 on a gift card with Green Bean on Elm. The business refuses to allow me to use it and refund me. I would like to receive my money back.Business response

Customer asked why we can't provide a refund or use their gift card associated with previous ownership/LLC and was not understanding of this change. That customer was frustrated that we did not notify people of this change when there was a local news article explaining the change on Nov 7th and we personally made a post on our Instagram on October 28th. That customer also claimed that they were smirked at but prefaced the whole conversation questioning whether or not we understood how gift cards worked which led me to believe this conversation will not be productive. They also claimed that they were treated so disgustingly but left the cafe by saying ***** you" to us. We had two representatives from the ******** ** *** witness the entire interaction and was in shock by the way the customer treated us. When this customer left the cafe, she was unaware we were the owners and assumed we were regular employees and was later frustrated to find out we were the owners and claimed we "gaslit" them by not sharing this information. I personally did not want to be upfront with our title because at these times we work as baristas, we would like to be treated the same way every other barista is treated by all customers in order to not have any bias opinion. A few months ago we bought the Green Bean from Amy F******* and we started a new LLC working the cafe as The Green Bean and we filed the DBA under our name to prove our ownership of The Green Bean. During the transition of ownership, we also created a new POS account so all gift cards associated with the previous business was rendered useless. We explain this too all customers who walk in wanting to use a gift card associated with The Green Bean on Elm and all but this person who filed a complaint were very understanding.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
The gift card I have has a remaining balance for the business Green Bean on Elm. The current operating business is Green Bean on Elm. I would like a refund of funds being that it is the same business.
The staff/owners lied directly to my face, were unhelpful and snide.
But regardless of their treatment of me the fact remains that I gave money to the business Green Bean on Elm and that business is not allowing me to utilize those funds at the business. So I would like a refund.
