I boarded my shih tzu dog at Downtown Hownds , May 6, 2024. When I dropped my dog off the manager ***** was not present, there was a young woman working that I had not met before that greeted me and took the dog for boarding. I asked where ***** was , she said that ***** was not there. My dog has been boarded there before and they know that my dog is to be kept separate from other dogs because he is not used to being around other pets. ***** was aware of this and I asked the young woman was she aware. She stated yes she knew my dog was to be kept separate. 5/7 I called to check on my dog, ***** asked me did i bring my dog in dirty. I said no and asked what she meant by that. She said well hes dirty and hes been out playing with other dogs. I felt some suspicion then because I knew my dog is not friendly. 5/8 I didnt hear from *****. 5/9 I received a call from ***** as Im boarding my flight. I missed the initial call and called back 1 minute later. She tells me that my dog is having some allergic reaction and she just gave him a Benadryl. I immediately panic and ask her what is going on. She said well i called to ask you should i give him a Benadryl because i called his vet and they advised me to. I then ask to see a picture of my dog and I was absolutely horrified. He was clearly attacked and bitten in the pic she sent me. I asked her what happened. She continued to say he had a reaction. I told her she needed to carry him to the vet asap. She tells me and my daughter that she had other plans bc her son broke his leg and she couldnt take my dog. I called my vet to find that ***** had already contacted them that morning and they told her to bring the dog, and she had not. When i asked her about this, she said he hadnt had his shots, which was a lie. I had to call family to pick him up and take him to the vet. My dog had been viscously attacked and bitten and had to be kept 2 nights. ***** paid the vet but showed no remorse. This was complete negligence.
