Documented issue ongoing with this facility.I spoke with a federal representative from CMS (Center for ******** and ******** Services) regarding the No Surprise Billing Act. This act states "The No Surprises Act protects people covered under group and individual health plans from receiving surprise medical bills when they receive most emergency services, non-emergency services from out-of-network providers at in-network facilities, and services from out-of-network air ambulance service providers. It also establishes an independent dispute resolution process for payment disputes between plans and providers, and provides new dispute resolution opportunities for uninsured and self-pay individuals when they receive a medical bill that is substantially greater than the good faith estimate they get from the provider."According to this act and the situation that took place at this facility telling me of a $0 copay and then negating to tell me that my insurance did NOT fall under their "in network" services for several months after it was documented on my account - I believe that I am protected under the n o surprise billing act. I am seeking legal advice regarding this because I do not believe i am in the wrong regarding this situation. The billing administrator said I signed paperwork that waived their liability in a situation such as this but I do not recall this. I would like to see this paperwork as well for my own reasons.
