My mother was in an apartment where ** Rentals was the property manager until it was turned over to ******** ******** management. My mother became ill beginning of April and died May 8th 2023 leaving me, her son, ****** ****, to handle her affairs. I went to speak to ******** about paying up her rent & getting her security deposit back. They said when companies transitioned from ** Rentals, ** Rentals kept all the deposits for the properties. I went to ** Rentals ********** location multiple times in April, May, and June this year during posted business hours. No one was ever there & the adjoining business said that they've repetitively had several ** Rental clients come to their office to see if they if anyone was ever at the ** Rentals office. They said they rarely ever see anyone & no one is ever there for the duration of business hours. I called the number posted on the office door, the number online, the number on their current listings, and I've hit every option & left several messages. I have also emailed the address listed on the site. May 9th a female called & it was explained to her why I've been trying to get in touch. That same day a gentleman, Adriano (?), called & spoke to my wife and she explained to him my mother expired May 8th and we need to settle her estate, and this i**ludes getting her deposits back from ** Rentals. I do have a lease to verify that she did in fact rent from them. My wife filed a complaint, ref # ********, however b/c she is not the appointed person BBB required that I refile. Refer to previous complaint & there will be responses from ******** & ** Rentals. Still looking to rectify this situation. In the meantime, I have yet to be contacted by ** Rentals. Letter of Administration has been attached/uploaded.

I hope this message finds you well.

In response to the complaint filed by ****** ****, it is essential to note that our company, NC Rentals 247 LLC, operates primarily online, with a focus on fieldwork and online appointments. Our office is not staffed continuously during regular business hours, as we often conduct appointments and operations remotely. This operational structure allows us to efficiently serve our clients while maintaining a secure and streamlined process.

Upon a thorough review of Mrs. ****'s complaint, it has come to our attention that the LETTERS ADMINISTRATION document clearly states: "NOTE: This letter is not valid without the official seal of the Clerk of Superior Court." Regrettably, the document lacks the necessary court seal.

Furthermore, it is important to highlight that the LETTERS ADMINISTRATION document is issued in the name of ******** *** *******, whereas our tenant's name was ******** ****. Thus, it is imperative for the concerned parties to prove that the letters of administration are indeed intended for the same person.
We would like to express our willingness to cooperate fully with Ms. **** and the Better Business Bureau in resolving this matter. To that end, we encourage Ms. **** to reach out to the Clerk of Superior Court to address the discrepancy in names and the official court seal and clarifies the identity mismatch, we will promptly review the refund request and take appropriate action based on the information provided.

I want to emphasize that we are not refusing to resolve this matter. Our primary goal is to ensure a fair resolution for all parties involved. To proceed, we need to validate the authenticity of the provided documents. Verifying these documents is crucial for us to disburse the funds while safeguarding the interests of our clients.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

      Sincerely,

      Eliran E*****

I am rejecting this response because:
The rental agreement on page one does state ******** ****, page 6 tenant signature is ******** M******.

The lease is not in her handwriting, therefore, it was not filled out by her. She still signed her legal name.

Attached is the death certificate validating last name **** prior to marriage and name at death ******** M******.

Appointment letter does have the seal.  I have darkened the photo so that you can see the seal more clearly.  It is a embossed stamp not an ink stamp.

After reviewing the evidence provided by Mr. ****, there is no doubt about the parentage. That's why we need information on the next steps to return the late Mrs. ****'s money to her son.

      Best regard

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and I accept it.

They may make out a certified check to the Estate of ******** *** *******,

      ****** ****-Admin

Attached is the name & address of where to send it.

I would like confirmation of when this is done.  A tracking number from the post office would be preferred as well to ensure that the task is completed. Or if the certified check is available for pick up from the local office this would be acceptable.

      Sincerely ,

      ****** ****

I am rejecting this response because:
I am fine with NC Rentals doing what's supposed to be done by sending yhe deposit however I still don't have any contact Information for anyone at NC Rentals and haven't been given a confirmation that the deposit has been sent.If I need to pick the check up personally then that can be arranged. I'm keeping this complaint open until I can get contact info or the check does arrive.
