    BBB unable to locate business
    On January 29, 2024, Events for Rent (located at 7615 ****** Dr at time agreement/payment) was paid $667.72 initial payment for chairs, tables, and tent service on May 4th (to be delivered May 3rd). On April 22nd I received an electronic invoice requesting I pay the remaining $667.72 online or pay by check. Because I wanted to add additional tables and chairs, I attempted to contact Events for Rent; the number listed on invoice as company phone was disconnected. I located the number on one of the statements for ********************* and left a message (the message from ****** indicated she would return calls or that customers call the office; which was the disconnected line). I was able to get *************************** email address from someone connected to the company and sent him an email on 4/26 ********************* sent ****** an email, left numerous voice mails, sent messages via their social media but never got a response. My husband and family friend rode by the address listed on invoice in ************ and realized that busy appeared to be set up there. I went to the warehouse on May 29th and personally spoke to *********************. She communicated that the owners were divorcing and that the city is giving them a hard time so the business closed. When I inquired about communication to customers and return of money, she suggested that she "thought messages were sent but maybe the system shut down". I showed her the requests for additional money that was coming to me every day since 4/22; she indicated that "she thought they turned it off". She communicated that they were selling some of the supplies that day and that she would have the owner reach out and send my money that day. On 4/30, I called and then texted ****** to follow up on my money being returned to me since I had to find another vendor and spent and additional $500. ****** provided me with the contact information for the owner ****. I spoke to **** on 4/30 and he shared the same story about their issues with the city but asked me to text him my mailing address so that he could go ahead and send my check that evening, I have not received the refund of $667.72 as discussed with *********************** on 4/30; he does not answer calls or respond to text messages that I have sent. However, I continue to get electronic requests for additional money to be sent to Events for Rent for the service that they could not and did not provide on 5/3-5/6. At this point, I need assistance retrieving my $667.72 from this company.
