On July 18th 2022, I received surgery that required anesthesia. The outpatient clinic I went to used ECAA as a provider. Prior to my surgery, I was billed and told to pay that amount prior to my surgery and once my insurance was billed, if there was an overcharge, I would be compensated via check. Once my insurance was billed, ECAA had overcharged me and owed me money back. Since a month after my surgery, I have called their billing department every month asking for my money back. Each time, I was told it was "processing" and to wait another month. At this time, I have yet to be compensated and have spoken to managers who promised to call me back a week later with updates and who never called.Initial Complaint

I received the attached Claim Receipt / Explanation of benefits. I used an in network facility with an in network doctor. I received and invoice for $900 from the Anesthesiologist. I contacted the Anesthesiologist and they advised that what was sent that we should file a grievance as the amount that was paid was insufficient. After contact with the office, they would not adjust the bill or anything. I agreed to pay the $150 that was noted on the explanation of benefits that advised your share. I do not feel that I should pay a dollar more. I went to an in network facility for a reason. This so called Surprise Billing should be outlawed. An interwork facility and Doctor using out of network providers that you have no idea of is absurd. You go for a procedure that was approved by insurance to later find out there is a side bar to it with the hidden charges !
