      June 30, 2023, was the date of pickup and the date the couch was delivered to him was April 10, 2023. We took our upholstered couch to ********************** to be reupholstered. He was very uncooperative with me from the very start. He did not want to acknowledge that I knew what I was talking about on the work to be done to properly reupholster the couch. I told him that I wanted it recovered exactly as it was with the draped back and the welting done on the bias. During our initial conversations he argued with me about what I knew to be true. If I had left the couch with him without special instructions he quoted it would have about $700 but because of the specific request I made I agreed up a premium for the work. After leaving the couch with him I called back to give him the option to refuse the work but he assured me it would be exactly as I requested. I spoke with him several other times via telephone to clarify what I wanted to have done . We picked up the couch today, paying ********************** $1,030 in cash, the upholster only accepted payment in cash and before we left the store I saw that the fabric on the back of the couch was not installed as it was supposed to be. I pointed out some areas that werent quite right but he brushed it off. When I got home with the couch I discovered several significant flaws and called to bring it to his attention. I wasnt seeking for the work to be done but to received some kind of partial refund. Mr. ********************** blamed me for the shoddy work and said I was too demanding a client. He admitted he may have forgotten to tell the upholsterer what I requested. After several minutes of heated discussion (aggressive) he offered to pay me $100 which is not acceptable compensation for poor workmanship.
