Bought a washer, dryer, refrigerator, dishwasher from them. They also sold me an extended warranty on all of them. Right after the factory warranty ran out the refrigerator and dishwasher developed issues requiring repair. I called them and they gave me the number to the repair company and when they no showed three times I went back TO Bargain Basement and they told me that the extended warranty repair company was awful and that they have endless complaints on them! Thanks a lot for selling me an extended warranty serviced by people you describe as awful. I would highly encourage anyone to rethink doing business with these people. I now own two appliances that dont work properly and an expensive extended warranty that is junk. Dont trust these people! Once they have your money you are treated like trash!Business response

**************** was not happy with the servicer provided by the warranty company. After speaking to ****************, I told him to call the warranty company back again and request another servicer. From what **************** explained to me, the service company that no showed him twice finally showed up, spent less than 5 minutes at his house and told him he had an installation issue. It is up to the extended warranty company that we utilized to provide reputable service for our customers which normally happens. We have no control over who comes out to the customer's home. *************** needs to call the warranty company back to request a different service company to look at the appliances.

I am rejecting this response because: The repair service told me the problem with my dishwasher was due to an installation problem. Since Bargain Basement did the install it is their responsibility to preform the repair. When I spoke to the manager on the phone he told me I had already burned my bridge by filing a complaint / review and then he hung up on me. He said as far as he was concerned it wasnt his problem. I would like Bargain Basement to refund me the money I paid for the extended warranty so I can apply that money to a repair company that will fix the issue created by faulty installation of the appliance.Business response

I bought a dryer from the above named company, when I financed it in November 2023 i was told I would only have to make 5 payments of $110, the dryer was only gonna cost $528 with financing, well I'm still making payments and now they are telling me if it was paid in 90 days it would have been $528, now they say i have to pay $1700 for the dryer. It quit working Feb 2024, and I had to pay to get it fixed. They never told me the 90 day payment option.Business response

The customer understood when he bought it that it was a rent to own contract. He was made fully aware that if he paid off in full in the 90 days what he would owe. He apparently chose not to do this and paid for the product over a years time. When a customer does this, the cost of the product goes up exponentially to about 2 1/2 times the original cost if paid for over a year's time. This is on the customer to pay off, not our responsibility and he was made fully aware of this. The reason the customer went the rent to own route is because of his credit history, he did not qualify for standard financing. We do hundreds of rent to own contracts each year and have few problems. Every customer is told the same thing about the 90 day option and it is up to each customer as to how they want to handle their obligations with the rent to own company.
