We had A1 Heating & Air install a new air conditioning unit for us last year on 10/22/21. He was referred to us by our then Home Warranty Company and we paid $5000 for the install. On 8/20/22, the new unit malfunctioned due to improper install (see HVAC Invoice for description of incorrect issues – Was not up to code, not inspected by city, wrong size drip pan, etc) and caused a major flood in our attic and did > $12,000 in damages and were displaced from our home for 20 days (See pictures). Our insurance has paid for the renovations to our house, however they are NOT paying for the improper install of the unit. We reached out to a lawyer to initiate a litigation claim against A1, however it was determined that the owner has almost no assets and we would not be able to recoup our money if we went that route. We are trying to recoup our money through the credit card company but have not gotten very far yet. I have heard from the business, however the dispute has not been resolved at this time. The claim is currently pending and will hopefully to be resolved in the coming weeks.
