On June 29, 2022 we entered into a contract with Figma Construction to remodel an upstairs bathroom, master bathroom, as well as some other projects that they advertised they were capable of. We paid Figma 1/2 of the budgeted amount, $31,331 of a projected $64,000 project. In their contract with us they committed to, amongst many other things, to fully renovate these rooms to a standard that we found acceptable. The scope of work was to begin immediately and take approximately 3-4 weeks. After 5 months and countless lies, nothing has been completed other than the demolition of the upstairs bathroom. Our home has been a complete disaster since the inception of the project to the point that it is not completely livable. Our family has had to share one bathroom for the last 5 months and will have to continue as there is no end in sight. After numerous inquiries as to why there was never any work being completed we kindly asked the contractor to gather all of his equipment and to negotiate a settlement. Initially the contractor sent a new invoice detailing the work he had suggested was complete and showed that we owed him another $6,000. After receiving the invoice I responded by suggesting he needed to reconsider as I felt like I was owed from him. He later sent a second invoice showing that the amount of work he had completed was equal to the deposit we paid. (I have chosen to not respond to the latest invoice until I can file this claim with the BBB.) Since doing some investigating into our so called contractor, it seems as if, on a number of occasions, that his business practices are consistent with our experience. Just by going and looking at Yelp reviews you will discover numerous times in which he has failed to live up to his contracts. There is a document number, ******** on the contract.
