      We had Matthews Fence install a horizontal fence using steel post rather then 4x4s to eliminate warping like many of our neighbors have. They did a great job including cleanup. We will be recommending them to anyone looking to install a fence that should last a lifetime.

      At the end of day the job wasn't finish by one slat in the planel. Crew left no courtesy note saying they be back, no call from the business office; lack of communication. The crew had piles of dirt in your and our neighbor's yards, back patio covered in mud, left the hose out, etc and the office stated they didn't have to clean up because the job wasn't over yet no communication because it looked like they just up and left. The discarded materials behind our property into the common area said it was "non of our business", they never acknowledge the crew was unprofessional in any way because leaving lunch trash in someone yard is not a problem or wiping their boots off on the front yard garden bricks. When it was all done they damaged the neighbor's mailbox on their way out. Didn't stop to see what they did, just took off. Prior to the job being done we should have known how this would go because when the utility lines had to marked they called us to complain that the lines couldn't be marked because left our old fence locked; if we knew you were coming it wouldn't have been a problem. Also, I'm a teacher and they complained that I didn't answer my cellphone during the school day and thought they had priority over my classroom.

      The customer was emailed the week prior and we let her know that we would be out on Tuesday and Wednesday to install her fence. The crew left on Tuesday at the end of the day and still had a little work along with the final cleanup to be done the next day. It did rain on Wednesday and therefore we came back on Thursday and finished the fence along with doing the final cleanup at the job. Unfortunately, the customer is very hard to contact due to her work schedule and she asked that we contact her before 9:15 a.m. one morning. We called her at 8:50 a.m. with questions but she did not answer her phone. Her phone calls and emails always arrived after 7:00 at night (after we are closed) and her husband told us we needed to ask her any questions. So, it was indeed difficult to get questions answered during the installation. We, in no way and at no time, disparaged her line of work or complained that she was unavailable. We would send her emails and wait for her response. It wasn't an ideal situation but we had to wait on the customer to respond to calls or emails when she was available since her husband could not answer the questions or concerns. A company vehicle did indeed accidentally push the neighbor's mailbox but we immediately fixed the mailbox and there was no damage to the actual post or mailbox. As far as ULOCO is concerned, all companies that dig must contact ULOCO to have public utilities marked as contractors cannot see into the ground when digging. ULOCO has 3 business days to **** the lines. Unfortunately, we have no control over ULOCO's schedule. There can be up to 7 different locators for utilities and they should contact the customer first but they do not. ULOCO did contact us and we let the customer know that they would need to keep their gates unlocked in order for ULOCO to locate all utilities over a week's time. Matthews Fence built a high quality vinyl fence for this customer and she and her husband will enjoy it for many years to come.
