I ordered a fireplace inspection for a client. He returned my call quickly and told me how he would inspect and what the charges would be. I was told it was in great shape, well taken care of. He wanted to be paid immediately, even before writing the report. When we received the report it had several repairs he said it needed and was a BIG cost. When I questioned the report, i honestly thought he sent me the wrong one. But he said it was correct and those repairs were recommended. ONly 2 photos were provided and neither the buyers nor I trust his judgement now. This was being done for a home purchase and we wanted to be sure it was safe to build a fire. DON'T trust this guy! seemed sketchy to both of us!!

The amount was for an inspection and cleaning. My price is still well below market value. The photos provided are actual photos of the issues found.

Mr. ***** was contracted to replace a vented fireplace in our older home. Instead of replacing the entire system, he installed a remote-powered fire regulator that sits adjacent to the logs. It was not ideal, because you could see the unit sititng in front of the logs, but it did work. He stated specifically that the unit was under warranty. This was on December 23, 2022 and we paid him $800 for this work.We had use of the fireplace for less than one full calendar year when the regulator unit malfunctioned in a dangerous way. We could not turn off the flame. We contacted Mr. ***** and on 12/14/23 he returned to repair the unit. He was able to do so, and we paid him an additional $150. However, the unit malfunctioned one month later and ************** returned to look at the unit, and declared that there was a manufacturing malfunction. At that point, he took the unit apart and left our house. He has not responded to requests for replacement, reimbursement, or any further service. We are very disappointed and expect at a minimum a 50% refund of the $950 we have paid.

Chimney Pro took over $4000 from us in deposits for work (2 chimney cleanings) and we purchased a chimney cap and logs from him. When we scheduled the work he was a no show and has been dodging our phone calls ever since.

10/7/2021 ********************* from Chimney Pro came to my home, showed me a catalog for chimney repairing and picked up $785 deposit. 10/8/2021 he deposited money to bank, waited until the fund available in account late days and then scheduled repairing date on 11/2/2021. He missed schedule on 11/2/2021 with excuse of unreceived custom chase cover next day. He said he would send an email to store in ************ where to make it. 11/4/2021 ***** replied my text message and said it was busiest time but he didn't forget me and would let me know when chase cover came. since then he didn't reply my text messages and emails until 11/10/2021. 11/10/2021 he sent an email with attached pdf files without explanation. The files seemly showed lead time for several manufacturers. Since then he did not responded my text messages and emails again until Nov. 26, 2021. He said it's holiday weekend. If I want refund, he would gladly get the process going on. So I told him I want refund. He said I would receive refund before February, 2022. It was last info received from him. I almost questioned him daily during work days until 4/9/2022. But no reply and no refund has been received.

Around Feb 17, 2022, I paid Chimney Pro $750 to order two chimney caps for installation. The company indicated about one month to get part due to COVID related delays from suppliers. I followed ** in early March and received email reaffirming COVID delays and expecting part soon. Since then after numerous calls, emails, and text messages, I have not heard back from the company. I am now pursuing channels to recover my money, or get the job done. This includes complaint to BBB, and likely a small business claim filing.

I contacted ************** Black, ********************************************************** ( owner/ installer of Chimney Pro LLC.) to install an insert in my fireplace. After several conversations. He sent me an estimate and insisted the insert and parts were in low stock but still available if ordered ASAP. He would not take a deposit but insisted the insert had to be paid for in full before he could pick it up. I gave him $2232.00. Since I gave him the money, the list of excuses just keeps getting longer and longer. After 4 weeks of chasing him, I demanded a refund. Now he is 100% unavailable. This will obviously end in a court case. Warning to all ********************* is a thief so stay clear. In retrospect, if I had taken the time to research Chimney Pro I would have learned that this is a pattern and there are several listed issues about the quality of work he does. Save you money and time, find another contractor worthy of your time and money.

I told him that it needed to be ordered because the last one took forever to get and Im going to h*** with that customer now as well because they didnt listen to what I said entirely. The unit comes with numerous items. The unit itself, the surround, blower, and the vent pipe. Some things come in quicker than others. My number has changed but all voicemails can still be retrieved. Show me evidence of one voicemail and I will gladly apologize. I never said the unit was in stock. I said if you want the unit before the cold weather ends then we need to order it now. Ive been in business for 10 years and if you can tell, issues havent developed until the pandemic begin because things arent the same. Minus the holiday or two. Its only been ***** business days and dont forget the storms in the Midwest

Our fireplace has been on the ***** since we moved into the house on February 2019. We decided this time to replace instead of repairing. Only it's hard to find anyone to do that. We asked all of our friends and neighbors but no one had a good recommendation. Because it has been bitterly cold and because I have a two story house (heat rises and stays on 2nd floor) with a cement foundation I decided to take the leap (which I never do) and start Googling for gas fireplace repairmen. I contacted multiple but only one responded, ********************* from Chimney Pro LLC. He had no reviews and a website. I thought, beggars can't be choosers. We are freezing here. I gave him a chance. On January 10th at 9:51am I sent a text in response to our earlier phone conversation. I sent him my address. During his visit he was polite and informative and very, very chatty. He told me how the whole process goes. He left it up to me whether I wanted to repair or replace the unit. I thought he was honest. He told me that he was stressed and a little backed up at work because his girlfriend just had a baby and at the time he was coming and going from the hospital where she had had a Cesarean section. I told him that I understood but I did require that he keep me in the loop on when the unit would arrive (it needed to be ordered) and when he would be able to install. He sent me a link with an invoice (I later realized in trying to see it again that it was a temporary link and that link had disappeared from my texts). I gave him a check for the deposit of $828 against my better judgement. On January 12th he cashed that check. After that I heard nothing from him and started texting him for updates from January 18th till now. When he does reply he gives me excuses and his stories change about the ordering of the unit from the distributor. I have filed a report with the *********************** and found that he already has a warrant out for failure to provide services paid for.

***** President of Chimney Pro was hired to but on a chimney cap and gas fireplace in our newly purchased house. We unfortunately paid him in August $975 by venmo to purchase the chimney cap that to be installed as a down payment. Since August he has not shown up for the installation and now has avoided the calls completely. Seems to be his routine given the other complaints mentioned on the website.
