We hired GLR Kitchen and Bath remodeling to do two full bathroom remodels and install a vanity area in our bedroom. We signed a contract for about $45,000 in December 2021, work didnt start until May 2022. They started a week early and went over deadline about 3 weeks. There were days people didnt even show up. They pushed for full payment on a job that was not finished, when we refused to give final payment until the job was completed, they told us they were done with our job and not coming back. Our final punch list was a page long, full shower glass enclosures never installed, wainscot wall coverings incomplete, installed poorly, sloppy wood trim throughout, painting and drywall sloppy, chipped tiles and new custom cabinetry was marred. We wanted to keep our existing wood trim but most of it got ruined by the elements because of their carelessness. The wood trim they replaced ours with was a different kind of wood, stained two shades too dark, wood filler was two shades too light. Paint rollers hanging in trees, paint spills on the driveway and nails in the driveway which punctured our car tires. They stressed the contract was a fixed rate contract and didnt honor that, specifically the wainscot material, the original material cost increased significantly and gave us two other material options to choose from that were significantly cheaper. They failed to order material in a timely manner and expected us to go with a lower quality material. We contacted the ** Contractors licensing board to file a complaint and learned our contract was illegal because their license wasnt valid when we signed the initial contract. We hired our own glass company for the shower glass install and a new plumber to come out and fix low water pressure in both showers and zero hot water in the guest shower. The new plumber found wood chips in the shower heads and told us they used natural gas line pipe dope instead of Teflon tape to seal the connections. I would never recommend them

The project was supposed to be done in 6 weeks; given some issues with the home, the roof and septic pump was replaced as soon as possible. We gave **** and ******** lump sum payments calculated to at least give 26 weeks of progress checks. I believe we only got at least 7 weeks of a full crew in the house actually working. **** left the job in September and refused to return because he demanded more money. We met in October again to get this renovation project done and he received a $15k check and then received 35k more; total cost of project when he abandoned the project was $126,000. The work done was not up to standards. I have pictures to support this complaint and copies of all checks to support he was paid. I also have an email from ******** when I asked her once they were paid in full, the project will be done. She stated Yes mam. The work will be absolutely done no matter what. We made an agreement and we will hold up our end of the deal. I have had another contractor come in to look through to see what can be done to finish and he even stated it is disappointing how the home was left. For example, **** quoted for a shower door per email at $1300; he stated it went up to $2100. He blames materials costing double. It costed doubled back in April 2021. There is 33 items that need to be addressed. There are numerous touch *** needed. The plumbing in the kitchen is messed up because they cut the line to the dishwasher. They left a hot line open for the stove vent that was never replaced. They refuse to trim the brand new windows downstairs and come to find out the placement was off and the window wasnt the correct size that was replaced so the trim will have to be cut down in size. Their excuse was the windows were never trimmed but I have proof they were. *************** by **** and ******** is poor. Im completely heartbroken over this experience. They took advantage of my aunt who is a senior citizen. I pray this does not happen to anyone else.
