In August of 2022 we gave ******************************* a fence job. He requested $6000 upfront for materials. He kept saying he was going to come out and do the job and never showed back up after saying over and over he was coming out. Now he is refusing to answer phone calls and text.Initial Complaint

On 10/7/22 I paid my 50% deposit of $2,750.00 for a fence to be installed and signed his contract. **** also signed the contract that listed out the scope of work. **** the owner of the company said it would take 3-4 weeks before he could start the job. I was fine with that time frame. On 10/31/22 I reached out via text to see about getting my fence scheduled. **** responded saying it would be that next week. He never showed up the following week. On 11/15/22 I reached out to get my fence installed. No response. On 11/18/22 I reached backed out and he responded saying his ****** has been sick and it would be installed the week after Thanksgiving. On 11/28/22 I followed up with no response. 12/2/22 I followed up with no response. on 12/6/22 I followed up and got a response that they would start the following Monday 12/12/22. He never showed up on Monday the 12th. On 12/13/22 I followed up and got a response that he would have it done the following week. His company never showed up the following. I've asked for my deposit back on 12/20/22 to no response. I asked again on 1/3/23 to no response and again on 1/13/23.Initial Complaint

Im filing a complaint against Breakfield Fencing for a fencing job not being done upon agreed date when I signed the contract. I spoke with the president of the company, ************************* Breakfield, and asked for a refund of the $3400 deposit I gave him. He cashed the check and stated that the job would be complete by 7/04/2022. On 07/25/2022, he stated that he would refund me my money. As of 11/08/2022, I have not been refunded the money nor have I been able to get in contact with the business or its owner. The address on Breakfield Fencing website, *******************************************************, is incorrect. I feel that he has stole my money and does not plan to refund me my deposit.Business response

Signed a contract for fence installation on Aug 22 2022 and paid a deposit of ***** dollars. Check was cashed and have not heard from ***************************** since. I have called him, emailed and sent text messages and he has not returned my calls. I feel he stole my deposit and is not coming to do the jobBusiness response

I am rejecting this response because:Entered a contract with Breakfield fence in Kings MountIn ** on August 19 2022 with a start date of 4 weeks out. After filing one complaint on October 10 with the BBB Breakfield Fence came and installed the fence post only. He does not respond to phone calls, text messages or emails. He did leave a message on Nov 7 2022 stating he was waiting for materials . I have not heard from him since.
