Taylor Made helped us remodel an older home from the 1960s and we have had several compliments on the house, especially the living room where we used live edge lumber to cover beams that contrast beautifully with the plank ceiling. It gives the room a "cabin like feel" with the high ceiling. However, in early April, one of the boards on the ridge beam (highest beam in the ceiling) slid down because the nails had pulled out, Taylor Made had used short, fine, thin nails to attach that beam. Who knew? That lumber was from a tree cut down on this property in 2017 and had been cut and dried for 4 years before being installed in 2021. (Evidently, this particular board pulled loose and only one skinny nail was still attached to the body of the ridge beam.) Thank God, one of the cross beams stopped/blocked the board from falling to the floor. We were on the couch watching the 11:00pm news when this occurred; if that cross beam had not been there, who knows what would have happened? One of both of us could have have been seriously injured, or maybe worse if it had hit one of us in the head. NOW it is a SAFETY issue!We contacted ********************* at Taylor Made the very next morning with pictures of the beam propped at the precarious angle. He responded mid afternoon asking he if they need to come put it back up; my husband thought he could do it, but we don't have a ladder tall enough, plus he shouldn't be doing their job at 71 years old. They were paid to do the job and have equipment to do so. Anyway, we both have contacted them several times each between 4/9 and 5/17 and ***** has ghosted us. We haven't gotten any response from him since the initial contact about the problem. We have had someone else to come put long screws in the entire ridge beam as this was an important SAFETY ISSUE now. Even though the original work looked great, we advise others NOT to hire them now. We shudder to think what would happen if they built a deck for us. BUYER BEWARE!
