On July 22nd 2024 I went to Affordable Dentures to have 5 teeth pulled and put dentures in. After they were done extracting my teeth they put the Dentures in, I went home.. After about 5 hours they fell out, the glue they used was not holding. I called Affordable Dentures and told them that the Dentures do not fit correctly. They told me to leave them out until I come see them on August 5th 2024. I called them anther couple of times asking what to do to get these dentures to fit and stay, they instructed me to some super denture glue.. I did all that a they still didn't stay in my mouth. I notice that the my two front teeth on the dentures were crooked, they went more to the left. I called the dentist and told them what was going on, that I wasn't happy with my dentures and wanted a new pair. Had to wait until my appointment. Went to the appointment and the dentist told me to open my mouth, he told me to put the dentures in, handed me a mirror and said my nose is crooked so that's why my teeth are crooked.I asked him to please make me a new pair and he refused, even though it states on there website they will do that. The assistant put this cushion stuff in and now my dentures make me look like I'm wearing a football guard. This is unacceptable, they assistant said there is nothing she can do. The dentist was rude and acted like he didn't care. Now I have to find another dentist so I can get new dentures, It's a long process with my insurance. I have no top teeth and cant eat certain food that I need for my medical issue.

I called my insurance company yesterday August 12th 2024 and they tried to help me with calling Affordable dentures on my behalf. I also contacted my insurance company and they informed me that all I had to do is get he dentist to cancel the claim so I can get another dentist to make me a new pair since Affordable dentures wont fix mine.  The lady from Affordable dentures called me back and told me that there was nothing wrong with my dentures that the dentist said they are made up to standards of Affordable dentures. I tried to explain to them what my insurance company said, she replied and said that the dentist will not do that since they already made the product and I have it.  I also told them that there website states if the customer isn't happy they can refund or make a new pair. She said that's up to the dentist to do that! I replied and said they don't fit, they make me look like I'm wearing a football guard.  The cushion they isn't setting correctly.  We went back an forth. She also said that the cushion is a one time courtesy. She told me to come back in 6 months and they will make the proper adjustments to my dentures.  I have to know go 6 more months without dentures. All I want is a new set so I can have teeth, this isn't fair to me..

4/3/2023 I went to the office to try in my new dentures. Insurance paid almost $2k to get the top of the line “ultimate fit” dentures. The dentures clearly did not fit. The dental techs would painfully put them in my mouth try to figure out what was off, take them in the back to work on (not sure if they were even qualified to do so), come back & try again. They did this over a dozen times unsuccessfully. She was clearly frustrated and told me to just wear them home to see how they felt. I was in pain and disappointed so I did. By the next morning I had to take them out and put my old ones back in due to bad sores and jaw pain, the bite was off. I called numerous times a week only to get the voicemail. I called my insurance, they called & were put on hold for 15 minutes then hung up on. I finally got a new appointment. 4/20/2023 I went back and showed the dentist that the front tooth was crooked causing the bite to be off. He was clearly frustrated and said he’d redo them but made me sign a paper saying I’d pay $125 if I didn’t like the “look” of the new ones. This was about the fit, not the look. I also noticed that they did not take patient confidentiality seriously because a man’s x-ray was on my screen with all of his info, I took a picture to prove it. I’m running out of space, so to make a long story short, I told him I’d rather go somewhere else, was crying, upset and he ignored me completely! 5/16/2023 I finally went back to try in my 2nd set. I already felt very unwelcome. They loaded them w/glue & put them in and I thought they fit. Once I got home they came out due to being too big on top & not fitting on bottom/pain. I couldn’t wear them more than an hour! I took them out and was shocked, they looked like they came from a bubblegum machine! Horrible craftsmanship! I had been humiliated enough and never wanted to step foot in there. I can’t find anyone to touch them and can’t wear them. The corp. office tried to get them to work with me but they refused.

    Concerning patient ***** *****

The patient presented on 3/9/2023 for denture consult and fabrication of denture.  Patient was informed that she had unilateral mandibular tori on lower right that would need to be removed if she had discomfort with the denture in the future.  Patient began impressions that day to begin the denture process.  Prior to completion of the denture patient was afforded an esthetic try-in to allow patient to approve of the esthetics of the denture in which she approved via signed approval after viewing.  The initial denture processed and delivered on 4/03/2023.  The patient returned on 4/20/2023 for denture adjustment and complained of denture rubbing in which the denture was adjusted for comfort and esthetics.  Impressions for denture remake were taken and denture remake charge of $125 was waived.  Patient had a 2nd denture esthetic try-in on 5/09/2023 in which she then again approved the esthetics of the denture, patient understood at that if denture had to be remade again due to esthetics that I would have to enforce the $125 remake fee.  Patient returned on 5/16/2023 for delivery of remade denture. Patient was explained at delivery that she had 100 days of free adjustments and 100 day money back  satisfaction guarantee.  Patient did not contact our office again for an adjustment or anythinng until 12/05/2023 desiring refund at that time she was explained that she was well outside of the 100 day refund window and that no refund would be offered.

2nd Response to BBB complaint for ***** *****

As stated in previous response, the patient came in for a denture consult on 3/09/2023 and impressions were taken for a new denture.  Patient had a esthetic try-in on 3/23/2023 in which she approved of the appearance of the teeth and signed the esthetic try-in form which states that she approves of the look of the denture and that the denture is going through final processing and no changes can be made to the appearance of the denture after it’s processed, if the patient has concerns about the “look” of the denture after it’s processed the denture will have to be remade and the patient will incur a $125 fee to remake the denture.   The denture went through final processing and patient came in for the denture delivery on 4/03/2023, the patient was explained that she has 100 days of free adjustments/ and 100 days of satisfaction/money back guarantee.  The patient returned on 4/20/2023 for an adjustment.  At that visit the patient complained of esthetics of the denture.  We took impressions to remake the denture and we waived the $125 which the patient should have paid.   The patient had a second esthetic try-in on 5/9/2023, in which she then again approved of the looks of the denture and signed the esthetic try-in form which stated that the denture was about to go through processing, no changes can be made to the appearance of the denture once processed,  and any requested changes to the appearance of the denture after it’s processed will incur a $125 fee to remake the denture.  The patient’s 2nd denture was delivered on 5/16/2023.  The patient was once again informed that she had 100 days of free adjustments and/or full money back guarantee. After that visit, I have no record of the patient contacting our office for nearly 7 months until 12/05/2023 in which she requested a refund, well after the 100 days.  Our office honors all adjustments, denture concerns,  and refund request that occur within the 100 day refund period.  Our office is opened M-F 8-5pm and we can be contacted via phone during business hours, via answering service that handles after hour calls, via online appointment and via email,  to schedule an appointment.  We have no benefit in avoiding any patient or insurance companies attempt to contact us.   Ms. ***** contacted us more than 200 days after the 2nd denture was delivered, which is well outside the refund window.  No refund will be authorized.

    Thank you

I am rejecting this response because: This response as well as the last response is complete nonsense. The issue has never been about the look of either set of dentures even though the craftsmanship is horrible! I was sent home the first time with dentures that did not fit simply because the tech got tired of trying to adjust them. They had to remake them because the front tooth was crooked which threw off my entire bite! That was not my fault! I told him then that I was not happy and would rather go elsewhere. The second set was just as bad. In fact the dentist was not even in the office when I picked up the second set. Why is he not addressing one of my primary concerns, that I did not want to go back due to another patient’s information being displayed on the computer in front of me? I guess the right thing to do is to notify the patient that I have his information due to their negligence. If he can sleep at night knowing that he did an absolutely horrible job, the dentures are in the exact same place they have been since the day I got them & will never be used yet I have to wait a full five years before I can get more, then so be it. Everything comes back times ten. All I want is to be able to eat, I don’t think that is asking too much! I will not respond to this again. But I will explore every possible avenue in my power to prevent one more person from going through this. You can have a good reputation and a long legacy or continue to ruin it.

I started going to affordable dentures and implants in ********* ** back in July of 2022. It has been a nightmare. After surgery, I went into DKA. I’m a type 1 diabetic. The doctor hasn’t taken my care seriously from day one. This last visit he finally decided to “take photos” of my dentures and refused to do anything else about my situation. The original dentures they delivered to me were subpar - but since then, they’ve been ground down to almost nothing - at my “adjustment” appointment, the tech kept mentioning she was going to be late for a doctor’s appt and would be charged a fee so she was in a hurry. Although I had gotten there early and had to wait over 30m to be seen. It’s a 45m drive to their office and 45m drive back home. I’ve made this trip many many times trying to get them to take me seriously. I’ve wasted so many hours, so much money in gas, and most importantly, have been trying to survive trying to eat with dentures that are falling apart and impossible to keep in place with even the strongest adhesive. I’ve tried everything. My health has greatly declined due to this. After the dentures were ground down to almost nothing, they added a bunch of material back to it and it’s so far from anything custom that would fit. Not only does it not fit, there are no biting surfaces left. The individual “teeth” are all uneven and don’t match, and there’s material that looks “gooped up” around the “teeth” making them inoperable. I’ve asked for the dentures to be remade but my insurance company asked for me to request a refund so someone that actually cares can remake them. I’ve requested copies of my medical records 3 times now and even called corporate, but they refuse to even acknowledge my request.

    Concerning complaint from ********* ***** received 5/26/2023
The patient presented to our office in July of 2022 desiring extractions of remaining non-functional/non-restorable teeth and fabrication of complete maxillary and mandibular denture as provided by ***** ******** Medicaid. Patient’s surgery was completed and denture was provided to patient. Patient’s esthetics checked and occlusion verified on multiple occasions to verify that denture is esthetically pleasing and functional for patient. Patient returned for several comfort adjustments which is typically required for new denture wearer with extractions. Both upper and lower denture were ‘hard relined” after 6 months as provided by Medicaid, and the “goop” the patient is referring to was the dental impression material placed in the patient’s mouth to obtain a mold of her gums. Patient demands remake of maxillary and mandibular denture but provides no logical or definitive reason on why she believes the denture should be remade. I informed the patient at last visits and several times before that her coming for adjustments is normal for a new denture prosthesis and that she had a hard reline which was treatment planned from the onset of her treatment as provided by Medicaid and which is typically necessary after delivery of immediate denture. Concerning patient’s records, I received a record request 1 day prior to this BBB complaint letter and to my knowledge this is the first record request by patient. Patient is free at any time to pick up records or records can be mailed directly to patient upon patient address verification.

I am rejecting this response because:

It is factually incorrect. I requested records multiple times, but that is not the most important issue. I have provided multiple reasons the dentures are inoperable. They have been “adjusted” so much and so many times that we are not working with anything that is remotely “custom.” The biting surfaces are non-existent at this point. The material on the inside is flaking off and becoming “see-through” again. The material is chipping away on the inside. The top denture barely stays in even with multiple applications of adhesive throughout the day. The bottom has been shaved down so much that it flops around in my mouth and cannot be glued down. The right side of the top denture is so thick and rounded off in the back it doesn’t sit flush in my mouth. Since my last visit, it’s gotten even worse as far as the material “falling apart.” There is no way I can eat with these things for another year much less ten years. If the office refuses to repair them to bring them to a functional state, and they refuse to remake them, I am again requesting a refund so that I can have Medicaid pay another office to do the job this office was paid and failed to do.

08/11/2020 I paid Affordable Dentures & Implants ** ***** ******* ********* ** $1,150.00 New Patient Free Consult/X-ray $575.00 Economy Upper $575.00 Economy Lower Denture Package 09/14/2020 I paid $1246.00 for extractions Total paid for new patient extraction & denture package $2396.00 To date, am still wearing healing dentures, not permanent! The dentist had made several mistakes in my healing dentures. The teeth were to big for my mouth, causing the sides of my mouth to split, I couldn't talk or eat very well. The dentist & I talked about this several times but he refused to see to see this. He said they looked great & he never makes mistakes! I finally got one of the assistant to see my complaint & she talked with the dentist. This did not make him happy with me & he asked me where I went to dental school.. He remade the healing bottoms & they were a better fit. Now time for permanent dentures & I ended up with the same! I had no say so on the size, shape, just only the color. I returned for my permanent, tried them in & took them out to discuss with him several issues. He took them away & said, I'll divide the money up & give you back what is owed! What? There is supposed to be a 100% satisfaction guarantee! I left his office in tears, still in healing dentures! I posted a review, was immediately contacted by a Virginia ****** to see if I would accept to be moved to the ******* ***** ** office. I said yes because all I wanted was what I paid for, my teeth. Went to ******* ***** office, was consulted & tired to be fitted (molded) for teeth. Was told there would be no try in's unless I paid $50. more, for try in's, what? Was told you get what you paid for & that's it! Have not returned because of the $50. has to be paid up front. This just doesn't sound right as a paid consumer! So now I have been asking for my money back! No response, no anything for months, until last week. Finally was contacted by Natasha customer relations. Was told all I'm owed is 415.00!
