I spoke with *** **** in early November, 2022; he provided a "proposal" via phone for soil testing of our Property to be performed no earlier than early December, 2022. I asked him for a written proposal; he indicated he does not typically provide such proposals. He indicated he could do soil testing of our Property for $2,500 but not until early December, 2022; there was no form of any contract. He also told me "You know, we might not be able to find any soil to perc for a septic system on your Property?' I called other soil testing companies as well, since we were trying to decide the best company for our needs. We did not like *** ****'s comment about our Property, since we had prior soil testing results indicating that we did have the ability for at least 1 septic system on the Property to be tested. We decided to go with a different company, providing said service the last week of November, 2022. We never called *** **** Associates back for a definitive scheduled date. If and when *** **** Associates called to confirm for early December, 2022, we would inform them of no need for their services. We never had any contract with *** **** and Associates. Without any notice, two vehicles from *** **** Associates showed up in front of our locked gate on Tuesday, 11/15/22. We told them that we hired a different company, we never confirmed the need for their services, we never received any notification of them coming to our Property, and to get off of our Property. *** **** Associates called our home phone this AM (11/18/2022) wanting payment. I told the lady that we had hired another company and never had a written contract. She stated that we had a verbal contract. I told her that we were not doing this and got off the phone. We had a verbal proposal with a proposed estimate of timing. No service, confirmation, or notification of coming to our property was ever provided by this company; they were told to get off our property. We are not paying this company anything.
