I found Kenneth Daniel Roofing through ******** via a post the owner (***) made. I *******ed the office to set up an appointment for an estimate. The rep *** came out on time and gave an estimate on site which was a positive. However, he did not go over any of the material used, warranty info or any information about their company. Additionally, their written estimates are very vague in nature. For example on the standing seam estimate it doesnt list the type of standing seam used (snap lock, mechanically seamed, etc.) or the gauge of the metal so you dont know what you are paying for. Another example, on the shingle estimate the box was checked for metal drip edge and starter strips but it doesnt specify if they are used on all ***** and *****, etc. Without a detailed estimate it can be up to interpretation. After *** came out I reached back out to the owner *** via ******** Messenger on May 26th to ask him for options on venting our roof as we have a unique venting situation. He was responsive and reached out to his *** rep and found a solution and gave me the *** reps ******* info. I reached back out *** on June 1st to ask how I get an updated estimate with the venting option he provided as there was no venting on the original estimate. Additionally, I asked about ice and water shield in the transition areas and low pitch roofs as there was no ice and water shield on the estimate either. *** asked that I send him a photo of the original estimate and stated that the estimate should have included these items and he would have *** reach back out to me to get it fixed. By June 6th I had not heard from *** so I called the office in the morning and left a message as the estimate did not have **** ******* info on it. I stated that I was wanting to move forward with hiring their company but *** had not reached out to me with an updated estimate per my conversation with ***. I called back that afternoon as I had not heard from anyone. The office manager said she did send my message along to ***. On June 7th *** called me. He stated he had spoken with *** about the missing items and stated he was pretty sure he included them but would need to check. Instead of having the updated estimate or checking to make sure he did include the missing info but forgot to check the boxes on the estimate he was only calling to set a time for the next day for me to sign the contract and provide a check. After several times of him pushing to do this, I told him we could figure a time to meet to sign everything AFTER he provided the correct estimate. He said he would get back with me with the updated estimate. He never did. Two weeks later on June 20th I called ***. He said that the owner *** was supposed to take care of sending the new estimate and would check on it. *** sent me the estimate later that day via email in which the estimate had increased by almost $600. I replied to **** email and copied the email address on the estimate (which seemed to be the owners **** email address) with simple questions I had (ie do you install the drip edge and started shingles on both ***** and *****, how far down from the roof ridge would the venting be, etc.). I did not get a response. On June 23rd I texted my questions directly to *** which his phone gave an immediate read receipt. Still no response. On June 28th I reached back out to the owner *** via ******** Messenger expressing my concerns with *** as I had been trying to move forward with hiring his company but *** was making it impossible as he would never follow up and that I would like to work with someone else. ******** Messenger showed *************** the message a few hours later. It is not July 5th and no response from *** or anyone from Kenneth Daniel Roofing. I had full intentions of hiring Kenneth Daniel Roofing but it is impossible when you have a rep who does not get back with you when he says he will but wants you to sign and give a deposit on an incorrect estimate and an owner who ignores you when you express your concerns with his employees. If it is this hard to give a company your business I cant imagine how difficult it would be if you hired them and had an issue as the owner doesnt seem to care. Needless to say I will be sharing my experience with the BBB, social media reviews and *** directly.

I do not remember the resolution options but I do want the business to respond and file the complaint.

Our rep indicated this person was not an ideal client for us and he didnt want to pursue with getting our company to provide services to her, and yet we still get a negative review. We, too, can be cautious with the clients we sign to provide services for.

The initial lapse in response is an oversight as I have been out getting a new tick infection treated and the notifications are only seen by me.

I am rejecting this response because:

Please explain why I was not an "ideal client"?

According to what our Sales Representative shared with our company in regards to his communication with the complainant, he advised the office that he felt it was in our better interest as a company to not pursue proceeding further in doing business/projects for her.  The Sales Rep has a knowledgeable, trustworthy background with our company and we trusted his intuition and gave him permission to not proceed with attaining the complainants business.  Furthermore, instead of filing complaints about a small business who did not provide services for a person, folks typically use that same energy and effort into finding a service provider who would.  We wish the complainant much positive energy in finding satisfaction soon!
