      My job requires me to travel, I had stayed at Comfort ********** Marion **, through CLC, upon checking out on Nov 16, I requested a receipt, after viewing my receipt, there was no additional charges, until the following day, my wife had seen where they deducted $100 from our account, after calling, they had told me that they charged me for smoking in the room, I dont even smoke, upon talking to the manager of the hotel, he said he wasnt the one that had filed the charge, and that it could have been for another room, they owe me $100 back, I understand if I damaged the room in some way, charging me, but when I left the room the way I found it, and did not smoke in the room.

      We would like to apologize that the guest complaint has gone this far. We have researched this issue in full and we have already decided to refund the charges back to the guests credit card. That was posted and processed on 11/18/23. We would like to inform that we follow certain protocols regarding any type of issue encountered with rooms. Our head housekeeper does a thourough inspection of all rooms and had informed the *** at that time about a smell of cigarette smoke in the room and that is what this charge was based on. The standard charge for this type of damage is normally $250 but we lowered it to the $100 that was posted.  Our policy regarding these types of policies will be re-evaluated and we do hope that this will help the guest know that this was a one-time refund and that if this does happen again, we will have no other option but to hold guest accountable and charges will stay. We would again like to apologize and wish everyone well.
