Mr ******************** was to install metal roof with titanium underlayment with new chimney flashing. Part of my roof is covered by a membrane and not metal. Mr ******************** said one of the workers dropped a tool and knocked hole in roof. Mr ******************** fixed it by putting roofing cement in hole. Mr ******************** has worked on roof for leaks as late as December 2021. My roof still leaks in three places with damage to the ceiling. Mr ******************** installed roof in 2021 but has continued to fix roof. I have pictures but could not figure out how to include them. Some of them is on Gibbs Roofing website under reviews.

I did install the roof for *******************

      A. It is a metal roof, but on cricket behind chimney I installed a small section of membrane material. Why? Because metal would not be functional due to huge amount of water from valleys that run directly into this chimney. Metal in this section would leak. I repeatedly explained this to ******************* but he insisted on metal of which I basically refused to do because metal wouldnt work. Im the roofing contractor he hired with 36 years of experience. I make the calls when it comes to what will work and what wont.

      B. There was a leak and a s**** that didnt seal. I removed it an put a small amount of approved factory metal roofing caulk over the hole, not roofing cement. This caulk and procedure is approved by the metal manufacturer.

      C. After I repaired successfully the first leak or maybe leaks, I never received another call from ******************* stating that there were other leaks. If I received a call I certainly would have gone to address the problems.

      D. On top of all this, through some research on my own I discovered that ******************* had hired another roofer to install metal over the membrane at the chimney. I talked to the roofer myself and he told me what he did. When this other roofer tampered with the roof I installed, my warranty was void immediately.

Check ************** roofing practices and labor Warrantys.

I do not want to drop complaint against Gibbs Roofing. My contract was for metal roof to be installed and there was no mention of any element material as part of roof. The roof looks terrible as is. The roofs continues to leak around chimney in front of house. Mr ******************** has worked on it a few times but it continues to leak with wall and carpet getting wet and has black mold on it.

Mr ******************** said through his research that I had hired another roofer to work on it. I did not and have not hired anyone else to work on it.  Perhaps Mr ******************** can furnish the roofer's name and contact information so we can find out who the roofer was and what work Mr ******************** said he did.

In a valley on the roof, Mr ******************** said it looked like one of the workers had dropped a tool on it and knocked a hole in the roof. He patched it by putting roofing caulk in it instead of replacing metal. I apologize if this not correct way to respond but it is only way I know.  Thank you.  ****************************   8 Lamb Drive, ******, ***  28752.   ************
