I hired *** Farlow in July 2021 to tear down my old wood deck and install a new larger F****** composite deck w/Aluminum railing. I had already ordered the materials and just needed a quote for labor. His quote came in several thousand dollars less than the other contractors I met with. He provided references ( I called all 3 and spoke to each about his work) and I decided to hire him for this large backyard project. He completed the work on time, then installed lights on my railing & deck stairs. I then hired him to install installation and beadboard wood ceiling and trim in a covered porch, put new screens on my screened porch, and he is in the process of building an enclosed workshop/man cave under the new deck. He has a great work ethic, communicates with me as to what he's doing and when, shows up when he says he's gonna be there, and brought me creative solutions to problems ( he had to redesign the deck steps due to space issues we had in connecting the deck steps to a hardscaping area next to an outdoor patio). I have already recommended him to several friends and neighbors ( I live in a gated community in ******** NC) and will definitely hire him for future projects. He brought in hardscaping contractors who did an amazing job on a flagstone steps, stone retaining wall, and a small landing at base of the deck steps and supervised their work along the way. He is creative, responsible, honest, and has amazing work ethic. He took ownership of this project, and picked up extra materials when needed (he gave me the receipts so I could pay him directly for this extra cost) and made sure things got done right. He and I discussed changes in scope of the project along the way (which he provided reasonable quotes for that extra work) and the end results truly speak for themselves!
