I paid Hudson Stonework to build a stone wall across my front yard in June of 2021. I paid them $7,300 in total then an additional $500 in April of 2022 to fix the wall. The $500 was to pay for repairs that were never made. In the photos I'm attaching, you can see that several feet of the wall had completely fallen over by April of 2022. The owner, *******************************, visited a few days on weekends (only a few hours each time) and then stopped showing up. I was forced to hire another masonry company after months of excuses.In a text message I've attached from *******************************, one of the owners of Hudson Stonework, he admits there was negligence on the part of his business. I ultimately had to hire another company to finish the work. While getting quotes for the repair, every single ***** who looked at the wall expressed serious concerns about how it was built and that it was done as incorrectly and unsafely as a wall they've seen. Since thousands of pounds of this wall fell, I had serious concerns that the rest of the wall could fall an injure or potentially kill somebody. There are pedestrians who have walked in front of it and it's also close to a busy road. This didn't matter to Hudson Stonework. In another photo I've attached, you can see the foundation mid-wall that Hudson Stonework put in. It's about 2 inches. The other masons I spoke to said this should be a MINIMUM of 6 inches. The other masons said it wasn't a matter of IF this would would fall but WHEN. I was forced to pay a ***** to add rebar and reinforce the remaining wall that Hudson Stonework negligently and incorrectly built.I have major concerns that Hudson Stonework is going to get somebody seriously injured or worse. They do not know how to do masonry correctly and shouldn't be allowed to do business in the ***********************.
