I was member with auto pay, last month I terminated my membership and just noticed that they charged me twice in one day ***** ea time . I went in person to ask why they charged me twice, spoke with manager he initially reversed it and then I left noticed on my bank statement he charged me again. That is theft and needs attention.

When **************** came in the gym and brought to our attention that he was charged $20 and thought it wasn't a correct charge we pulled up the account on file. The charge of $20 was for 2 months (March/April) that were past due on his sons attached account which he paid for (his signature is provided for this). We waived late fees for his sons accounts as well which we didn't have to do. A cancellation was put in last month (April 2023) by ****************, all cancellations have a 30 day cancellation policy, so any bill that falls into the that stretch of time is billed to the individual as well (so all billing would cease after the month of April for all memberships he paid for), all of which is noted in the signed contract by ****************. To conclude everything, because of the nature of **************** and his actions, I ended up refunding the $20 to his account which you can confirm with him, in which we did not have to do and can easily provide documentation showing we didn't have to, which we will gladly too to ensure this complaint becomes invalid.

I joined Work Out Anytime ********* in January 2020. I was able to join due to the proximity of my job to it and that I had a tiny window of time after work before I had to get my daughter off the bus. Then, in March 2020, the pandemic caused it to shut down. Even after it reopened, I had anxiety about being around others in the small space. Also, due to the transportation shortage in CMS, my daughter's bus was discontinued and I had to begin leaving from work to go straight to her school to get her, leaving no time to go to WOAT because I do not have childcare one I pick her up. Although I have been paying all this time, I have not gone since late Feb/early March 2020. In March 2021, I followed the contracts guidance that said to cancel my membership, I needed to write a letter. After doing so, I got a call saying that I couldn't cancel. When I explained my reasoning, they said I could cancel, but I would have to wait and come back in July. Due to family issues, I was not able to return in July, and have thus been paying for a membership for over 2 years despite only using it for 2 months and following the cancelation process from the contract.

I am rejecting this response because I have already taken the necessary steps to cancel and yet it has not happened and has thus cost me a great deal for something I am not using. Just as with my original letter and communication, I think this business uses deflective and manipulative tactics to continue to access my account. I can no longer afford this. It is taking away from the money I work hard to earn for my family. I need this membership canceled immediately.

      Sincerely,

      *************************

I moved away from the ********* area in October of 2021. I informed the WorkOut Anytime ********* location that I will not be attending need to cancel my membership. They said I couldn't because I signed a contract but I could put it on hold until it was time to be renewed. I asked when that was and they said March. I noticed the next month that my payment has been withdrawn and I called about it. I was informed that she forgot to put the paperwork in and that she would get it done that day and I would receive a refund. Never got the refund and the payments were still being withdrawn. I let it go because I was going to have to pay the full amount anyways when I canceled the membership. So I called today to make sure the membership was not auto-renewed. I was informed in October that that is their practice. I was told I would be charged for another month of service because I didn't call a month ago.

I canceled the Membership agreement back on 3/6/2020, and they keep charging to my account. All NC fitness centers have been closed per Governors orders since around the beginning of the pandemic. I did not want to pay for something that I could not receive. I was under the understanding that was the end of that. Then on 9/06/2020, they started charging my credit card again. They will not give me the owner's information to talk to the owner about a refund. I have not attended the gym for two years. Anything you could do in this matter is appreciated. Thank you.
